    General Fee: Dental Material (MS), Preventive Dentistry (MS) and Oral Surgery students will be charged an IUPUI general feefall and spring term. For all other programs, the general fee is included in the flat rate tuition.

    All newly accepted students must purchase all of the instruments required by the respective graduate program.

    Once students have accumulated the number of credit hours required by a particular graduate program, they must enrollfor a minimum of 1 hour of graduate credit each semester until the degree is completed.

    DEPENDENTS Married students should anticipate costs of at least $8,000 per year to support the first dependent (spouseor child) and $5,500 per year for each subsequent dependent to meet basic needs of rent, food, clothing, and healthinsurance. If you plan to bring your spouse and dependent child(ren) with you, you must document funding for eachdependent.Mandatory Health Insurance InformationAll enrolled international students in F or J visa status are automatically enrolled in IUPUIs mandatory health insuranceprogram for international students unless they have been approved for a waiver or are receiving a fellowship. Billingoccurs in September for Fall premiums and in January for Spring/Summer premiums. The charges will appear directly othe students bursar account.

    Student Account BillingStudent accounts are billed in two installments:

    $395 for the Fall semester coverage from August 15 through December 31 (billed in August), and$643 for Spring and Summer coverage from January 1 through August 14 (billed in January).These amounts are based on 2011-2012 rates.

    Waivers. Students with pre-arranged health insurance requesting a waiver from the mandatory health insurance planmust do so by the waiver deadline. To qualify for a waiver, you must submit the waiver request form, available though theiStart system at istart.iu.edu. The waiver deadline is 10 days after the start of classes each semester. Students who do notfile acceptable waiver requests with the Office of International Affairs by the deadline may be denied a waiver solely on thebasis of late filing of the request. You must verify that you have medical coverage that meets the following requirements:
