• When logged in: (left side of the webpage:

– View Lab Result Report Tabs: • 1. New Drug Testing Results:

– When you receive an e-mail from NDSL, this is the tab you need to go. It will take you to a different webpage to view your result.

– Once you view your results, it will be filed electronically. Always print your results and file along with the other drug testing associated paperwork. (example new drug testing result is on the next page)

• 2. Reprint Drug Testing Results:

– All drug testing results viewed are electronically transferred in this tab.

– Use this tab if you wish to view or reprint your reports. (see the next page).

The first section is the list of Drugs being tested and cut-off levels

The second section is your drug testing information. It lists the premise code you used, discrepancies, and the result (positive or negative), along with the summary of your result at the end of the page.

When reprinting your drug testing results, the only area you need to change is the START month and END month. ‘Click” Run Report.

When you successfully fill in the start and end date, it will take you to this page. It will show the date it was last viewed and who reviewed it. Click on the Org Code and it will take you to the drug testing results you need to Re-print.

– Custody Form Status: • 1. Non-Reported Custody Form:

– If you submitted drug testing specimens to NDSL and have not received any e-mails to view the results, this is the tab you need to “click” on.

– It list all the drug testing specimens they have received and:

» Have not tested OR

» Re-testing the samples – that means, one or two drug testing specimens tested positive (GCMS).

• 2. Results NOT Viewed:

– All your reports not being viewed on time are reported in this section (a – b):

– Query Laboratory Results: • When you receive an e-mail

from NDSL regarding new drug testing results, do not use this section to look for your drug testing results.

• You may search for your new results here. However, your results will remained outstanding – that means, new results are not viewed.

• If you “click” on any of the tabs, it will guide you what you need to do in order for you to locate the information you are looking for.

Processing Drug Positive Results

• Verification of positive drug test: – You will receive an e-mail from DDRC

the same day the result comes out from IFTDTL.

– You will receive Medical Review Officer (MRO) letter as shown.

– The MRO is due back to DDRC no later than 72 hours. • Medical Review completed

• Commanding Officer’s confirmation.

– If the drug test result is under investigation, notify the DDRC for the delay.

– The package from DDRC will include: • (1) The MRO letter

• (2) History of Marine’s drug testing

• (3) Print out of the drug testing results

• (4) Release of Information letter from the Marine.

• (5) ADMITS (history of substance abuse treatment), if available.

Processing Drug Positive Results

• Verification of positive drug test will include: – Marine’s full SSN

– SACO will provide the Medical Officer the Marine’s full name.

– The date the drug testing was collected.

– Type of drug/s and Nanograms (ng). • The amount of metabolites (ng) is

not a record of when the Marine used or how much drug was consumed. It only represents the amount of metabolites “captured” at the time of the testing.

• Verification of positive drug test will include: – Medical Review Section: (Prior

to CO’s confirmation) • Medical Officer (MO) will received

a signed “Authorization to Release Information” by the Marine from the SACO (example on the next page).

• MO will review Marine’s Medical and Dental Record, AHLTA, CHCS for prescription medications.

• It is encouraged that MO to contact treating physician if any questions regarding the medication.

• Once review is completed, MO will check appropriate box if prescription exist or not.

• Submit to CO for confirmation.

• “Authorization to Release Information:” – As required by OSD, Marine will

disclose prescribed medications using this form.

• The SACO will fill in the information.

– MO will fill in this section after review of Marine’s medical records.

– Marine MUST acknowledge and sign this section and witness by the SACO.

• If not signed by the Marine, MO will NOT release list of prescribed medications.

• Verification of positive drug test will include: – CO’s Confirmation:

• Upon review of the MO’s findings, the CO will check appropriate box to indicate that test result was:

• “Wrongful use”

• “No wrongful use”

– If CID is involved and investigation is open, inform the DDRC of the delay.

– If not, return the MRO to DDRC, no later than 72 hours, to report the confirmation from the CO on IFTDTL.

For Drug Testing Related Requests

• For any drug testing related questions/request, ensure that you contact your DDRC first.

• The form on the left will be used for all drug-related request.

• For RE-TEST of sample. – (Line item #3): The Marine

requesting will choose to send the drug testing sample to any federally approved drug testing site.

• It is important that the Marine requesting for retest is aware that s/he is financially responsible for the re-test.
