Who we are

Yuktix Technologies Pvt Ltd is an Internet of Things startup based out of Bangalore.

We have developed data capture and communication hardware IP using which a multitude problems can be addressed.

Using Yuktix platform, you can connect sensors and devices to the cloud in a plug-and-play manner.

We are running the largest urban citizen weather network in India that can be accessed at www.yuktix.com/m/aws

Agricultural Applications of Yuktix IoT System

Agricultural Field and Weather Management Systems

Crop Disease Prevention

Crop Insurance Smart

Greenhouse Post Harvest

• Pesticide and insecticide scheduling to solve residue problem

• Precision agriculture based on sensor data.

• Weather data for agricultural insurance

• Cold storage and Ethylene monitoring

Weather Monitoring

• Real time weather data from fields

Agricultural Disease Prediction Systems

Agricultural Disease Forecast systems Can be used by growers to make economic decisions about disease treatments for control

Forecasting systems are based on assumption that pathogen thrive in certain weather conditions.

The objective is to accurately predict when the three factors - host, environment, and pathogen - all interact in such a fashion that disease can occur and cause economic losses.

Examples of diseases that can be predicted

Occurs in High temperature and Humidity conditions.

Mildew in grapes.

Thrives in moist, humid, and warm climates.

A minimum leaf wetness duration is required for grey leaf spot of corn to occur.

Grey Leaf Spot of corn.

Can be forecasted based on temperature, relative humidity and rainfall.

Late Potato Blight

Initiate spraying when accumulated risk is beyond threshold

Pathogens thrive in certain weather conditions. Access to weather data and statistical models can predict diseases in crops, e.g. mildew in grapes using Broome model or Potato Blight using CPRI JHULKA CAST model. Right prediction models can solve the problem of excessive spraying and economic losses.

Solution Components

Wireless Sensor Nodes:

• Data collection from sensors and transmission to gateway

Gateway Device:

• Data transmission to cloud

Yuktix Cloud Dashboard

• Accessing data from anywhere. Configuring alerts/SMS for specified conditions

Android App:

• On-the-go remote monitoring of fields. Get Push notifications and dashboard on mobile

Solution Description

• The solution comprises of solar powered wireless sensing devices spread across the field.

• These nodes would measure the specified set of weather and crop characteristics like:

– Temperature

– Relative Humidity

– Rainfall

– Leaf Wetness

– Soil Moisture

• The devices would relay sensor data on local radio network and also transmit readings to the Cloud via GSM.

• The cloud dashboard would run statistical models and predict Disease occurrence and spraying frequency

• SMS, Email and Push notifications for trigger events or spraying reminders

Case Study: Grape Disease Prediction using Broome Model

Problem – Predicting mildew in grapes

Solution Components – Sensors:

• Leaf wetness, temperature, humidity

– Solar powered wireless weather stations

– Statistical Model: Broome Model • Inputs: Daily mean temperature, wetness

duration

• Outputs: Infection Index,

• Actions Determined: Spraying requirement

– Yuktix Cloud Dashboard • The Broome model was encoded on the

cloud and the data could be accessed from anywhere

• Results can be sent to mobile subscribers

Case Study: Grape Disease Prediction using Broome Model

Yuktix has encoded the statistical model for Grape disease prediction using Broome Model[1].

The data captured from the Wireless Sensor network and displayed on a cloud dashboard as shown below:

Yuktix Advantage

Indigenously developed weather stations and technology to reduce import cost and do problem specific customizations.

Ready made sensor catalog makes deployments faster. Total budget for rollout can be predicted accurately.

The same setup can be used to incorporate more models thus decreasing cost of deploying the solution for more crops.

Works Off-grid. All units are solar powered

Dashboard and cloud for instant monitoring.
