As of May 2014, the internet has nearly 3 billion users,
closing in on half of the total world population.

adults use social networking sites. 71% of
these adults use Facebook, 18% use
Twitter, 17% use Instagram, 21% use

security is an important issue that needs to be
addressed.

The most primary form of online security relates to
online privacy

Social media websites sell private information,
people are not reading the fine print when signing up
for these sites.

As a result, users are often unaware of their breach in
private information and when they find out, it is too
late.

Identity and personal information theft is becoming
more commonplace.

phone numbers, etc.

People are not realising the consequence of the
material make available online.

The age at which people are introduced to the
online world is reducing by the year.

First, we need to educate our children on the potential
dangers of the internet and its consequences.

People need to be more aware of what they sign up
for, read the fine print.

Do not be a victim of phishing, always be aware of where your
private information is and who is allowed to access them.

Keep private and sensitive information OFF the internet
if possible.
