Vray r ende r - us ing I RR and Quasi Mon t e Car lo

The materials were added to the floor, white color wall. For the chairs, I used leather materialwhich you can find it in Vray shaders pack

*n o t e : All materials must be Vray material. It not only make render faster, but also easier tocontrol color bleeding.

I used Vray light for diffuse lights. Since the windows in this scene are wide open, I used 2Vray lights at the windows. Placing them as you can see in these images below.

Let's begin with this simple scene. I used a box (editable poly), then used extrude commandto create the window. The scene also had some furniture. just to make it not too simple.

*n o t e : placing Vraylight inside the room, leave a small space between Vray lights and thewall. Trying not to place them intersect the walls because that will make noises for therender .

First, you need to assign Vray render for Max. Since this is a test render, it is good to keepthe image's size small.

Going to Render tab, then go to Globa l Sw i tches , right here you can change some renderelements such as reflection/refraction , glossy effects,...etc.

Turn off the D efau l t L i gh t s . Then click render, you will get this result.

The room needs more lightning and shadows

TEST RENDER

Let's begin using Gl oba l I l l um i n a t i on . Turn ON the Indirect Illumination (GI) , chooseI r r a d i an c e m a p as primary bounces , and Quas i -Monte Car lo as second bounces. See theimages below .

Sine this is just a test for lightning , go to I r r ad i ance m ap , choose Low for c u r r en t p r esetand change the sample lookup to Ov er l app i ng .

For the Quas i -Monte Car lo , leave the defaut settings.

Click Render ....

The room looks really bright, but do not worry, we will fix it in next step.

FI RST : decreasing the multiplier of Vray lights down to 1 0 .

SECON D : go to GB u f f er / Co l o r m a p p in g tab, choose Exponen t i a l type.

Looking better , but in my opinion it is still too bright. This step is up to you, I will decreasethe Vray light mutiplier a little bit more (down to 6 ) . Click render...

Enough for me. Let's begin making more warm feeling by adding the sunlight. I used TargetD i r ect l i gh t .

Click Render ....

Last step is to put some furniture in and set up a high render for final image. Go toI r r a d i an c e m a p , choose High for current preset and change HSph. Subd ivs to 2 5 (you canput this value higher to get higher quality , but 20-30 is good enough ).

For further improvement, saving this final render image as .TGA file. I used Photoshop for the

background and color balance...Here is final image.
