12. Describe the control measures that will be implemented to prevent significant damage to or erosion of the receiving water channel at the point of discharge. Produced water will be discharged through a vertical, large diameter riser pipe and allowed to flow down the side of the corrugated pipe to dissipate energy. The discharged water will pass over rip-rap or scoria placed at a gentle slope prior to entering the receiving channel or reservoir.

13. Describe the control measures that will be implemented to achieve water quality standards and effluent limits. If

proposing to utilize a treatment process, provide a description of the treatment process.

The construction noted in the response to question 12 will aid in the oxidation of metals such as iron, and will in turn enhance the precipitation of metal oxides on the rip-rap or scoria.

14. Outfall locations must be established as part of a preliminary field reconnaissance survey using GPS or

conventional survey equipment and documented in Table 1. Please document the type of equipment used, the expected accuracy of your measurements, and a brief rationale for locating the outfalls at the requested sites below. Outfall locations were selected initially from a map review. The initial locations were selected considering pipeline locations, terrain (see question 12 above), and ease of access for monitoring. Land owner input was obtained to site the outfalls where they would be most useful to the land owner's ranching operation. The final locations of the outfalls were identified by field GPS using a Garmin GPS unit (potential accuracy of 60 meters or less).
