Intertek Testing and Certification Limited, notified body number 0359 in accordance withArticle 9 of the Council Directive 94/9/EC of 23 March 1994, certifies that this equipment orprotective system has been found to comply with the Essential Health and SafetyRequirements relating to the design and construction of equipment and protective systemsintended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres given in Annex n to the Directive.

9. Compliance with the Essential Health and Safety Requirements has been assured bycompliance with: EN 50014: 1997 + Al and A2: 1999,EN 50018: 2000 + AI: 2002except in respect of those requirements referred to at item 18 of the Schedule.

10. If the sign "X" is placed after the certificate number, it indicates that the equipment orprotective system is subject to special conditions for safe use specified in the schedule to thiscertificate.

11. The EC-Type Examination Certificate relates only to the design, examination and tests of thespecified equipment or protection system in accordance to the directive 94/9/EC. Furtherrequirements of the Directive apply to the manufacturing process and supply of this equipmentor protective system. These are not covered by this certificate.

12. The marking of the equipment or protective system shall include the following:-

Solenoid Operated Vent Valve Models C422425, C422685, C422695, C422705, C423095and C423155 each consist of aluminum tenninal bodies with stainless steel valve bodies.Connection to the tenninal block is made via a threaded entry. The solenoid valves are ratedfor use at 20-28vdc 1.0 A

* Valve is rated for fluid temperature of 427°C for 10 seconds per day. During this period theTemperatureClassificationof T3 maynotbe maintainedand temperaturesabove200°Cmaybe present on the valve.

Both internal and external earthing facilities are provided.

A cable entry hole is provided for the accommodation of a suitable certified flameproof cablegland, with or without the interposition of a suitable certified flameproof thread adapter.

17. SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR SAFE USE

The fluid temperature may exceed the temperature class limit. It is the responsibility of theuser to take this into account when using the valve as the Temperature Classification of T3may be exceeded.

The cable entry point may exceed 70°C. It is the responsibility of the user to determine thecorrect temperature rating for the supply cable.

18. ESSENTIAL HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS (ESHR'S)

The relevant EHSR's that have not been addressed by the standards listed in this certificatehave been identified and assessed in Intertek Report Ref 030 12666 Issue 1, dated July 2004
