1.WHAT IS YOUR PRODUCT AND HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS IN THE MARKET?

We have developed Recommendation engine, Rumor Engine and Sentiment analysis engine using Machine Learning.

Recommendation Engine could be used for retail Business to recommend products to a customer like Amazon.com does it or recommends movies to viewers like Netflix does it. We can also build catalog of products for a group of customers.

Idea here is that we use the data to learn from the behavior of customers and use that to predict the behavior in the future and make use of it for recommendation. 

·Rumor engine can crawl web site to get information client will be interested in.

Sentiment analysis engine could be customized for Businesses to understand the sentiment of people related to their products, organization etc

·Generally this area is only focused by internal IT of big players like Amazon, Walmart ,Microsoft etc and there are not many companies offering it to the smaller clients like licensing/services model

2. HOW DID YOU COME TO DEVELOP IT. WHAT'S THE BACKGROUND TO YOUR FIRM?

While we were working at our algorithms in our proprietary trading firm we had to deal with huge amount of data, say 1 to 3 terra byte per day. We used to analyse that data and in the process we learnt about Hadoop and its ecosystem.

We learnt about machine learning in the process of data mining and trying to get at insight using many algorithms over 3 years. So we have used our knowledge in the Machine learning, big data and distributed computing environment to build various libraries, which helps us to develop various engines that will provide solutions to real life problems.

3. WHAT HAS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE BEEN IN GETTING UP AND RUNNING.

The technology which we are using requires multi disciplinary knowledge, from mathematics, statistics to distributed computing platforms and programming languages.

We have programming background and the rest we needed to learn ourselves

·We have cloud services like AWS and open source environment like Hadoop which negated the challenges

4.BIG DATA AND ANALYTICS ARE A PARTICULARLY HOT SPACE RIGHT NOW, WHAT KIND OF INTEREST/ATTENTION HAVE YOU BEEN RECEIVING FROM CUSTOMERS AND FROM THE INDUSTRY?

This area is very hot and we have immense interest shown by lots of customers and industry folks. We are working with many clients to provide solutions at this point at various levels from POC to prototyping, hosting it on cloud etc.

5.WHAT ARE YOUR LONG-TERM AMBITIONS FOR THE COMPANY AND/OR ITS TECHNOLOGY?

Machine learning has been around. This is the same technology used by US post offices to read mail addresses. Google uses this technology to provide advertisement. Google is trying to use the technology to come out with a driverless car.

We are trying to make this available to small and medium non IT savvy Businesses to help improve their businesses.

·We want to bring Machine Learning to all walks of life of people.
