What is OSH?
Basis for all health and safety activities.It is a master plan to:1. Identify and control hazards before they cause
accidents or illness; and2. Respond to emergencies.

Why have an OSH?
Every year over 1.2 million workers are killed due to work-related accidents and diseases

Background History
Initiate discussion at an International Organization for Standardization(ISO) Workshop in 1996
In 1998, identification of OSH-MS elements by International labour Organization(ILO) and in co-operation with the International Occupational Hygiene Association(IOHA) both also called (the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) Group)
End of 1999, British Standards Institution(BSI) also launched an official proposal for OSH management but failed
January 2001, final draft OLO Guideline on OSH management system(ILO-OSH 2001) also (OHSAS 18001)
Publish in December 2001 and updated in 2007
