Crosswater Solutions manufactures a 4-part patent-pending Environmental Preservation System (EPS) that not only reduces storm water runoff, but can store it and even clean a variety of contaminants

out of surface water runoff by using a bio-remediation agent that is LEED compliant with all EPA standards and ground water protocol.

Our Solution

Page 6: Introducing our Environmental Preservation System

Phase 1 Pervious Capstone Since the implementation of the Clean Water Act of 1992, there has not been one green solution to storm water control (MS4) until now. We use our patent-pending, superior permeable pavement to capture and provide entry to storage aggregate at a high rate. We use recycled rubber, recycled concrete and polymers to create the Capstone. Crosswater’s EPS is pending BMP validation by Ohio EPA as facilitated by Battelle Memorial Institute. BENEFITS • Controls surface water runoff • Supports substantial loads • Ideal for cold weather • Eliminates black/surface ice • Eliminates piping & retention basins • 50% less in cost than other systems - installation

similar to asphalt & concrete USES • Parking lots, walkways and bike paths • Tree surrounds • Farmland runoff & industrial containment runoff • Utility pads • River banks Capstone Components 6

Page 7: Introducing our Environmental Preservation System

Phase 2 Storage Aggregate We incorporate a very high-porosity patent-pending expanded ceramic shale to store and absorb water. Rotary kiln to pyro-process and expand clay, shale or slate BENEFITS • Absorbs up to 50 gallons of water per yd3 • Used in major construction sites • Inert to erosion and deterioration, extremely light-

weight • Supports patented worldwide bio-remediation

agent

USES • Geotechnical fill • Light-weight concrete • Structural and pre-cast concrete • Horticulture/landscaping • Bridge embankments and building materials

Phase 3 Bio-Remediation Our EPA-proven bio-remediation agent is tailored to site contamination and gets to work, cleaning or neutralizing most water polluting-contaminants. BENEFITS • Cleans and bio-remediates contaminated storm

water • Remains dormant until needed • Easily replenished through Capstone if needed • Exclusive to Crosswater Solutions USES • Wetlands and marsh cleanup • Industrial sites cleanup • Contaminated parking lot runoff • Users include: Walt Disney World, Cummins Engine,

EPA, Ford Motor Company, CSX Railways, FedEx, General Motors and more Components

Phase 3 Cont. Bio-Remediation HOW DOES IT WORK EXACTLY? Bioremediation is an advanced bio-technology for a clean environment. It allows natural processes to clean up harmful chemicals in the environment. Microscopic “bugs” that live in soil and groundwater like to eat certain harmful chemicals, such as those found in gasoline and oil spills. When this bio-remediation agent completely digests these chemicals, they change them into water and harmless gases such as carbon dioxide.

Phase 4 Monitoring and Maintenance After installation our 4-part patent-pending EPS system, Crosswater Solutions will provide continued oversight of the project to ensure its success. BENEFITS • Unparalleled cost benefit by using our system • Once completed, the system is sustainable • Our use of 100% recycled materials is green-

technology at it’s best • Meets and exceeds MS4 compliance • The only 100% recycled material and sustainable

solution on the market

Value Proposition and Cost/Benefit Analysis

11

Page 12: Introducing our Environmental Preservation System

Value Proposition • Crosswater Solutions’ 4-part patent-pending Environmental Preservation

System (EPS) does not compete with other surface systems or contaminant elimination systems; it simply performs where they don't.

• Our EPS meets several EPA expectations in one thorough system: o Pervious, Porosity, and Remediation for one price and one installation

• At an average cost of $18.00 per sq. ft., we have produced a green, sustainable

system that works versus the enormous cost for systems that have proven ineffective.

• Any other system will require multiple installations and higher costs due to major construction efforts. These systems will not meet the expectations of the law nor will they meet multiple standards of performance.

12

Page 13: Introducing our Environmental Preservation System

Cost/Benefit Analysis • Businesses, governmental agencies and foundations operate in accordance

with annual budgets and cost restrictions that impact their bottom line. Because of this, the cost benefit of using Crosswater Solutions’ EPS is achieved through the savings over the years due to the zero to minimal maintenance requirements.

• Once the EPS is installed, the cost for repair, upkeep, replenishment, and/or replacement is eliminated in most cases.

• In almost all scenarios where a comparative process is used, the top surface needs to be replaced every few years. Underground storage tanks and other ill-advised contaminant elimination systems including alternative sewer systems become cost prohibitive as well.

• As a result, the use of our EPS creates a cost benefit through savings of up to 10 times that of any alternative approach.

Non-Proprietary Ingredients Used • Recycled rubber • Recycled concrete of generic

description and function of proprietary ingredients

• The entire topcoat is patent pending

Capstone Details/Data

Crosswater Capstone Environmental Impact Report • Capstone is environmentally-friendly once cured according to

EPA standards. • Resin we use in the process is non-flammable; however, it has

to have a SDS (safety data sheet) upon transport and during the work process.

15

Page 16: Introducing our Environmental Preservation System

Standards • Traction – Performs better than asphalt

or concrete • Weight – 9# per square foot at 2# thick • Temperature – Burn rate is the same as

rubber. Non-flammable once cured. • Auto ignition is the same temperature as rubber. Greater than

asphalt (ASHCO test #666) • Freeze/Thaw – Pass 270 cycles and counting • Wear/Tear – Better than asphalt. Guarantee up to 15 years • Solar Degradation – Guaranteed up to 15 years in black. Other

Test Site • Located in Jamestown, New York

• RTPI installed Crosswater Solution’s EPS material around the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History’s parking lot.

• Our EPS material will capture contaminated storm water and direct it into the storage aggregate where it willl be bioremediated.

• This project will serve as a demonstration area for educating visitors about new conservation technologies.
