Define the Problem (Gather/Study)
There are 3 Basic Steps to each of the major components in the CNA: School Process Rubric (SPR 40 or 90) and School Data Profile/Analysis (SDP/A)

NEW Conclusion in SPR 901. As the staff reviewed the responses to the questions
asked about the key characteristics, benchmarks, standards, and strands, what trends were noticed that may impact on student achievement?
2. What did the staff identify as strengths in the school systems and protocols of practice that significantly impact/support student achievement in the building?
3. What did the staff identify as over-arching challenges that would need to be addressed?
4. What process did the school use to complete this School Process Rubrics (90)?
NOTE: Auditor focus during On Site Review (#4)

Discuss (Study) the data
As a group, discuss a select few indicators
![Page 15: introducing SPR (90) required in 2011-12](https://reader038.vdocuments.net/reader038/viewer/2022110211/5681329f550346895d993f58/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
» Reduce 90 to approximately 10 – 15 focused indicators by celebrating 3-5, isolating 3-5 that have been recently improved and/or identifying 3-5 challenges that need additional attention and systemic improvement.
» Therefore: Select a few to celebrate and only a few to focus on improving through the School Improvement Process regardless of how you choose to complete the 90 indicators.
» Key point: Focus on system issues, not isolated examples. Accreditation is not based on score, so be Brutally Honest – unlikely everyone will be implemented on the system level for every indicator.
DISCUSS Process Data

Collect (Gather) Info to “Define the problem”
You may choose your pathway
![Page 17: introducing SPR (90) required in 2011-12](https://reader038.vdocuments.net/reader038/viewer/2022110211/5681329f550346895d993f58/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Utilize an online Survey in order to have multiple people independently respond to some or all of the indicators.•Allows staff to complete on their own time and at their own pace•Reserves staff meeting time for discussion and collaboration rather than independent scoring•Flexible in terms of delivery to all or some
Top Two Options for collecting information
![Page 18: introducing SPR (90) required in 2011-12](https://reader038.vdocuments.net/reader038/viewer/2022110211/5681329f550346895d993f58/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
“Divide and Conquer” or “More hands make less work”
You may wish to designate teams of teachers (dispersed across departments or grade levels) to collaborate on a subset of the indicators. If a group will simply decide for the building a subset of indicators, then a survey is redundant. Better to have the staff input directly into AdvancED or on a paper copy.
Other considerations: familiar 40 versus the new 50 indicators …

“Data is powerful IF insight from educators transform the data through collaborative
problem solving to create an inspiring action plan that is implemented with faith and courage.
Then ask: Is what we’re doing working to improve teaching and learning? How do we know?” D. Greer
