How It Works

Page 10: Introduction and Overview

Two Ways to Fundraise

• Nonprofits can become eBay sellers listing

items on their own behalf.

• Nonprofit collects the final bid directly

from the buyer and ships item.

• eBay will credit the Insertion and Final

Value Fees back to your eBay account, for

items that sell.

• eBay sellers list items on eBay and

donate 10-100% of their proceeds to

a nonprofit.

• MissionFish collects the donation

and forwards to nonprofit less a

small transaction fee.

• eBay will credit the Insertion and

Final Value Fees back to the seller,

equal to the percentage of the final

sale price that he/she opted to donate.

It Starts with Nonprofit Certification

• Nonprofits register for free to appear in the nonprofit directory

• Any tax-deductible organization can join and will be screened and certified by MissionFish

• MissionFish creates a homepage for each nonprofit that includes mission statement, link to their web site and provides a view of all listings benefiting the organization

Page 12: Introduction and Overview

11

Community SellingeBay Sellers list items to benefit your nonprofit

• Sellers select a benefiting nonprofit and the donation percentage while listing their item

• Nonprofits may request the cancellation of inappropriate items

• The seller pays eBay fees.

• MissionFish collects the donation from the seller

• MissionFish pays the nonprofit (less the MissionFish share) and provides a tax receipt to the seller

• eBay will credit the Insertion and Final Value fees back to the seller, equal to the percentage they chose

Nonprofit Direct SellingNonprofits become eBay Sellers to list items to benefit themselves

• The nonprofit registers for an eBay Seller account

• The nonprofit links their MissionFish and eBay accounts

• The nonprofit selects itself as the benefiting nonprofit while listing an item on eBay

• The nonprofit receives the money from the buyer and ships the item

• There is no tax receipt

• For every Direct Seller item that sells, eBay will credit the Insertion and Final Value Fees back to the account
