In 2007, Star Wars celebrated it’s 30th anniversary in a way that was worthy of the name. By organising the Star Wars Celebration IV party, Star Wars showed that they didn’t want to let this happening pass by in silence. The Star Wars Celebration IV partywas held in the US as well as in Europe, and lasted five days around May 25th, the actual 30th anniversary date of the saga.

This 30th anniversary celebration was one of the main reasons that Nikko’s Home Electronics division came up with the idea of doing something special for this occasion. And so we did…

In January 2007, at the CES show in Las Vegas USA, Nikko’s Home Electronics division has shown its capabilities to shock the world with the releases of two new Star Wars licensed Home Electronics products, the R2-D2 Wireless Webcam and the R2-D2 DVD Projector. But that’s not all…

R2-D2 DVD Projector

The R2-D2 DVD Projector has the looks of R2-D2 and the high innovation- and technology-level that Nikko stands for. On board, this R2-D2 has a DVD-player with integrated projector and speakers, an iPod docking station with the ability to play all the content of the iPod, memory card slots for multimedia purposes like photo- and Mp3-files and a back panel with inputs and outputs for multiple vision and sound purposes. The R2-D2 DVD Projector also has FM Wireless Audio Transmission, safety sensors and original R2-D2 sounds.

But that’s not all… The R2-D2 DVD Projector can be controlled in style with the Millennium Falcon Remote Control, which can be set on a matching display stand with light and sound effects.
