1.0 INTRODUCTION

Three reinforced concrete elements have been designed according to Eurocode 2 ; a simply supported slab, restrained slab, a simply supported beam and flange beam. The slab is a two-way spanning slab and one way spanning slab. The moment values are determined by the coefficients given in the Eurocode 2 and the dimensions were assumed according to structural class and environmental conditions. Based on the architecture plan and the information given in the design we had calculate the 5 critical load that acting on beam and slab. In our calculation, the durability and serviceability is most important aspect. Durability requirements are to ensure that a structure has satisfactory durability and serviceability performance under normal circumstances throughout its lifetime. Besides that, these requirement will involve aspects of design, such as concrete mix selection and determination of cover to reinforcing bars, as well as selection of suitable materials for the exposure conditions which are expected. Serviceability, implies that deformation of structures such as deflection, cracking and other distortions under load shall not be excessive. We have to consider that the structure is safe, it is able to resist without distress and with sufficient margin of safety, all forces which are likely to act on it during its life time.
