INTRODUCTION
Are you fed up with the amount of subscribers that opt in to your mailing list?
Are you only getting several readers a day to sign up for your email list?
I was also tired of only having a handful of subscribers a day at the beginning
of last year. I was only averaging 3 subscribers a day. So I set a big fat goal of
getting 2,500 new subscribers in 3 months and followed the plan I’ll be sharing
with you in this report.
I went from 3 subscribers a day to 38 subscribers a day within a month –
adding 1,012 subscribers in just 30 days.
And you can do it too!
I’m going to share with you the five strategies I used to grow my email list and
how I went from 3 subscribers a day to 38 subscribers a day in just 30 days.
It takes work, but it’s simple and very doable. By spending time on each of the
following steps, you’ll see your influence grow and your email list expand.
If you are working part-time on your blog, strive for 1000 subscribers in 90
days. But make your goal a big goal – so that, when you reach it, you’ll be
ecstatically happy.
Let’s get started.
1. Effective Blog Design
When your goal is to increase your email list, your blog has to be designed to
accomplish that goal. You want more subscribers. So you need to make it easy
to ask your readers to take action and sign up for your email list.

When you go to Successful Blogging, you’ll see a feature opt-in box at the top
of every page. If you are new, you cannot miss seeing that opt-in box. That
feature opt-in box converts much higher than a sidebar opt-in form.
I learned about feature opt-in boxes from Jon Morrow at Boost Blog Traffic. He
told me that a feature opt-in box converts 5% to 10% of your readers versus a
sidebar opt-in box which converts at ½ of 1%.
When you figure that out, for every 200 visitors, a sidebar opt-in converts 1
reader into a subscriber. A feature opt-in box converts 10 to 20 readers to
subscribers. That is a huge difference!
If your website design doesn’t allow for a feature opt-in box, there is a plug-in
called Plugmatter which allows you to create one for every page of your
website. It’s easy to use and works well with most themes.
I also recommend having an exit intent pop-up box on your site. The amount of
subscribers I got daily went up dramatically after installing an exit intent pop-
up. It’s a creative and less intrusive way to capture your reader’s attention
before she leaves your site since it doesn’t pop up while she is trying to read
your post. I use Optinmonster. It’s a great plug-in because you don’t have to
know any code or use a designer. You be able to create your own beautiful opt-
in forms easily.
2. Blogger Outreach
You need to start connecting with the influencers in your niche. Your success as
a blogger depends on the relationships you build with other people in your
niche.
Create a list of 10 to 20 influential bloggers to connect with this month.
Then approach each top blogger in a systematic manner.
Start by joining their lists, if you haven’t already

Then comment on each one of their blog posts this month to get the blog
owner’s attention
Share their post after you comment on it on your favorite social media
platform
Link to them in one of your blog posts this month
Send them a short, complimentary email telling them about the link or
asking a simple question
Your goal is to connect with them so that you can eventually do a guest post on
their blog or get the opportunity to interview them by email or on a podcast.
3. Promote Your Posts
The key to writing great posts is to give massive value to your readers. And it
takes a while to write those posts so I recommend only writing one post a week.
If you are part-time, just write a post twice a month. Spend the rest of your time
promoting your posts and guest blogging.
How to promote your posts effectively?
Send an email to your list
Post on your social media accounts
Leverage your blogger outreach allies
o Send an email asking for a retweet or a share on social media or to
be included on their weekly round-up (if they have one)
4. Guest Posting

The very best way to get traffic and to increase subscribers is to put your best
content on blogs that have a lot of subscribers and traffic. Use their authority to
build your authority.
I did just 2 guest posts last month and generated just over 1,000 blog visitors
and doubled my opt-in rate for the month.
Start with the blogs where you have established a connection through blogger
outreach. Read their most popular posts and the posts that received the most
social shares. Then you’ll know what topics their audience loves.
Send an email to the blog owner saying how you have researched their blog and
suggest several topics that their readers would enjoy. Send at least 5 of these
emails each week and you’ll get one or two guest post opportunities. Spend
your time writing a great guest post for that site and make it outstanding.
Make sure you put a link in your byline to a landing page (squeeze page) so you
capture the readers’ email addresses. The easiest way to do this is with
LeadPages. It’s the best way to have a beautiful landing page with high
conversion without paying a web designer or knowing any code.
5. Repeat Each Month
These four steps work great and will increase your subscriber rate dramatically.
Make your efforts count by repeating this process each and every month.
