Scope of copyright

• Encouraging creativity by giving exclusive property rights in creations

• Fostering a competitive marketplace by giving the freest possible public access to works of authorship and the ideas they encompass.

• It was difficult to reach scarcely scattered readers

• It was easy to catch counterfeiting

-> Protection was needed for somebody (distributors) to do this

2. Copyright in the digital era

Digital technology

• Reproduction and Distribution is – Easy, Cheap, Fast, and Done with almost

no change of quality

"Code can be an art" 행사는, 21세기 디지털 문화의 주역인 코드를 만드는 사람들이 스스로 창조자였음을 다시금 생각해 보자는 의미에서 꾸며진 행사입니다. 무언가를 만들어 내는 즐거움, 자신의 논리가 검증되는 쾌감을 찾아 우리의 여정은 계속되고, 그 결과를, 그 체험을 공유하려는 운동에 Creative Commons는 함께할 것입니다.

요즘에는 누구라도 쉽게 공부할 수 있는 창조적인 도구들이 많이 있습니다. Processing, VVVV, Arduino, Wiring, Chuck, Supercollider 등의 잘 알려져 있으며 Creative Commons를 적용하고 있거나, 자유롭게 사용이 가능한 소프트웨어/하드웨어적인 도구들을 사용하여 공연을 준비하고 있습니다. 꼭 미디어아트를 하는 작가가 아니더라도, 창조적인 무엇인가를 하고 이를 나누는데 관심 있는 사람들이 자발적인 참여를 통하여 함께 이루어 간다는데 CC Real Mixter의 더 중요한 의미가 존재합니다. 예술과 과학기술 어느 하나에만 중심을 두고 있는 것도 아니며 꼭 전문가의 전유물일 필요도 없는 것을 실험하고 싶습니다. 사람들이 자신의 공부에 대한 배경에 구애 받지 않고 경계 를 넘나들고 서로 소통할 수 있다는 것을 피상적인 수준에서가 아니라 실제로 즐겁게 놀아보겠습니다. 이러한 것이 가능할 때, 우리는 또 다른 C, 즉 Culture를 이야기 하고 만들어가며 향유하게 될 것이라 기대합니다.
