• The policy texts are not the same:- IPv4: “IP addresses used solely for the connection of

an End User to a service provider (e.g. point-to-point links) are considered part of the service provider's infrastructure.”

- IPv6: “The PI assignment cannot be further assigned to other organisations.”

Results

• Around 10% of IPv6 PI requests currently get denied that would be approved for IPv4

• This number is expected to rise because,• 2/3 of the requests we approve for IPv4 PI would

not be approved for IPv6

• Do we want this?
