MULTIMEDIA
A multimedia is a collection of image, sound, video, text, animation in such a manner that it can provide an effective presentation & information to Captivate, Motivate & educate the audience.

HISTORY Motion pictures were originally
conceived in 1830s. First motion picture camera invented
in 1887 by Thomas Alva. Silent feature films appeared in 1910
to 1927. In 1945 Vannevar Bush wrote an
article over hypermedia. In 1960s the term hypertext was
introduced. 1969 the first hypertext editor
“FRESS” was made.

In 1989 Tim Berners-Lee proposed the WWW
In 1991 MPEG-1 was internationally approved and then later on MPEG-2, MPEG-3, MPEG-4 & further MPEGs introduced.
In 1992 JPEG was accepted as an international format for image compression.
The first DVD video was introduced in 1996

Hypermedia: The collection of multimedia in a non-linear format is called hypermedia.
Multimedia: Use of different media to convey information using text together with audio, graphics and animation, often packaged on CD-ROM with links to the Internet is called multimedia
