Objective

After today’s instruction, students will be able to:

• Locate books in the SIUE catalog and retrieve them from the shelves

• Understand a catalog record• Locate and request books in the I-Share Catalog• Understand how to request materials through ILLiad• Have a familiarity of Reference Databases

Using your assigned research topic and the library’s online catalog, locate items in the library about your topic. The library map and collections directory will help you navigate the library. Bring the item back to class with you. You have 10 minutes to search the catalog and locate all 3 materials.

Each group must retrieve one item from the following collections about their topic:• From the Book Collection• From the Reference Collection• From the Journal Collection
