Survey features • Innovative mobile technology
• Annual indicators of progress
• Survey fielded in 4-6 week timeframe
• Provides consistency with DHS measures…
• …and introduces new indicators of quality, choice, access
• Creates a community feedback loop to prompt program improvement
• Establishes a platform that is expandable to other health sectors
• Strengthens local capacity
• Network of partner universities/research institutions
• Network of resident enumerators

Minimizes errors: automated constraints, skip logic, no data entry step
Rapid feedback to communities
Collection and data entry errors
Delayed feedback to point of collection
Reporting delays: Data collection and data entry are separate steps. Rapid reporting

The use of mobile devices lends itself to the collection of new types of data…
• GPS coordinates
• Date/Time Stamp
• Photos
• Bar Code
• Way of paying resident enumerators, mobile money

…and our data are being used! Ethiopia’s FMoH has used PMA2020 results to redesign national FP
strategies. The ministry plans to use PMA2020 data from subsequent rounds for continued tracking of national FP progress.
DR Congo’s MOH has used PMA2020 to monitor progress and featured survey results at 2 most recent National FP conferences.
Uganda FMOH is using PMA2020 data to do a situational analysis for their Costed Implementation Plan.
AAU has worked with UNFPA to conduct their facility RHCS survey using our platform.
CHAI is using our supply data to track implant use and provision. FHI-360 is using it as well.
DKT is using our data to track EC use – and plans to use for tracking SP uptake in Nigeria.
BKKBN plans to use the PMA2020 platform to replace FP “mini-survey.”
