2014 Activities

INTRODUCTION

• Indeed this year has been a very great and successful year for INVENTS, in spite of the challenges that have come our way. So many success stories were recorded and many milestones reached. We say it is the doing of the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes.The year has been characterized by a myriad of activities which have been successful towards the raisin of leaders and entrepreneurs.

IDEAS PULPIT

• This event was held in March, 2014 and was a remarkable one, as the auditorium was filled to the overflow. It was a partnership with Chosen Generation. The event was under the theme "Growing in the knowledge economy ". The resource persons included Rev. Kofi Osei Kusi, Kafui Dey, Em Bartels, among others. Ideas Pulpit, to God be the glory was a great one. Expect a greater one in the next edition.

TEEN LEADERSHIP OUTREACH

• This was an outreach to the Nima Cluster of Schools which took place in June, 2014. Magnates took the students through talk sessions, counseled them on the way forward and of course minister the gospel of Christ to them. Oh, what a great experience that was, towards the fulfillment of the core mandate of raising magnates and dynamic leaders.

INVENTS INTERNSHIP SCHEME

• INVENTS successfully subscribed 15 students from different tertiary institutions into various companies for internship opportunities. They worked in capacities as Administrative assistants, Customer Service Officers, among others . It was a learning platform for the participants and a great milestone for INVENTS in the year 2014.We hope to increase the number by great margin in subsequent editions.

PURPLE EXPERIENCE

• This event marked the climax of the 7th year anniversary celebrations of INVENTS and Alumni Homecoming. The event was held in partnership with Excellent Brains Consult. The theme for the event was "STAND OUT", and it featured many renowned personalities, including, Comfort Ocran, John Ntim Fordjour, Tonyi Senayah, Paulina Awortwi Nelson, among others. The day was complemented by poetry from Nana Asaase. Charles des Bordes, first Vice President of INVENTS was also present, together with other alumni.

EXTERNAL ENGAGEMENTS

• In the year 2014, there were reps from INVENTS who were facilitators and mentors at the Junior Barcamp, Barcamp Ashesi and Barcamp Kasoaorganized by the Ghana Think Foundation at Odorgonnor SHS, Accra. This was a gathering of Student Leaders of Senior High Schools in the Greater Accra Region. Also, at Teenpreneurship2014, organized by Legacy and Legacy, a magnate was a mentor to the teeming youth who were eager to learn. This was by kind courtesy of the HuD Group. INVENTS also had a training for the staff of the HuD Group.

CORPORATE TOUR

• In the year 2014, there were two major corporate tours. During these tours, members are taken around the company premises and explaining the workings therein. We are also encouraged by the story of the companies, thus, from their starting points and their current stand. The corporate tour gave all who were present the opportunity to ask questions. The team visited the offices of OseiKusi Foundation and inCharge Global Limited.
