TWO MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE INVERTER KIT

The Inverter Check Kit: Ÿ Will confirm if the indoor, outdoor or both boards are

functioning properly. Ÿ Helps to determine if boards or compressor are

working on system.

Inverter Phase Check Module:Ÿ Checks inverter output - shows non-functioning

output devise or damaged output stage.Ÿ Checks serial-link communication between indoor

and outdoor units.Ÿ Identifies connection problems or non-working PC

boards.

The REFCO INVERTER CHECK KIT can be used to analyze problems with Duct Free Mini Split Systems. The Kit can be used during the installation and

maintenance of the Duct Free Systems.

1. 2.Indicate whether the phase outputs in the inverter are operating correctly.

Data flow function will tell you if there is data flowing in both directions between indoor and outdoor sections.

Kit includes an electronic module, set of leads for testing serial communication links, and a selection of cables and connectors for the power output terminals of inverter.

What’s Included?

Checking Power Output from InverterŸ With power disconnected, the 3 probes from

Inverter Checker are connected to the ends of the compressor wires from outdoor inverter board.

Ÿ Switch power back on and operate system. Most units have time delay/short cycle protection.

Ÿ All six lights will illuminate if the inverter output is good.

Checking the Data Flow Between Indoor and Outdoor Circuit BoardsŸ When system is operating, data flows between

the indoor and outdoor circuit boards.Ÿ To check data flow, connect the red and black

data probes to the terminal feeding the indoor unit.

Ÿ You will have at least one data light flashing. Frequency and intensity will vary depending on the type & amount of data being transmitted

Ÿ No data lights – check the connecting cable is not damaged and connections at both ends are secure. Confirm that the indoor and outdoor unit are both grounded to each other.
