S100A4 AT A GLANCE!
FOCUS OF RESEARCH
IMPORTANT RESULTS
S100A4 under normal conditions does not
affect the cell polarity.
S100A4 triggers JNK pathway in metastatic
conditions.

QUESTION IN FOCUS!
In the current day clinical practice, what treatment strategy is adopted to treat a patient with metastasis?
Best answer one can get is combinatorial therapies. Looking at new targetsNew mutationsFinding out new molecules
THE TRANSLATIONAL SIGNIFICANCE!
Yes they are.
But, how much comprehensively these therapies are
applicable?
What is the success rate?
Are these therapies treating the disease or just managing it?
Are the fields of genomics, proteomics and metabolomics really
helping us in finding out the therapies for diseases?
Are the processes of pre-clinical trials, clinical trials (Phase I, II,
III) and the pharmacovigilance robust enough?

AYURVEDA
Ayurveda is Upveda of ‘Athraveda’ and its practice can
be traced back to 3000 BCE.
Is the oldest system of medicine known in the world
with reported evidences by the sages and saints of
ancient India.
It deals with the holistic understanding of the disease,
followed by holistic treatment.
BASIC PRINCIPLES OF AYURVEDA
Principle of Tridosha – Vata, Pitta, Kapha Principle of Panchmahabhutas – Akash (Space), Vayu (Air),
Jal (Water), Agni (Fire), Prithvi (Earth) Principle of Saptdhatu – Rasa (Plasma), Rakta (blood cells),
Mamsa (muscle tissue), Meda (fatty tissue), Asthi (bone tissue), Majja (bone marrow and nervous tissue), Shukra (reproductive tissues)
Principle of Srotvijanana – which is about Macrocosm – microcosm continuum and it correlates with Quantum Biology concept.

INTEGRATING THE KNOWLEDGE!
Can we integrate the knowledge of Ayurveda with the tools of genomics and proteomics to build a platform which can be used for development of truly integrative and personalized medicine?
Can we bring in the original principles of Ayurveda in modern day research models?

OUR FOCUS
To create a amalgamated platform for bringing together the molecular diagnostics, Ayurveda diagnostics and treatment strategies from both fields with personalized approach.
To create a library of plant based compounds and there derivatives having potential therapeutic effect in cancer (for example).
To create awareness among Ayurveda fraternity for importance of molecular tools and techniques and how these tools can be helpful in validating the ancient knowledge for its global acceptance.
