• Green infrastructure design work will be performed in your neighborhood

WHY?

• Reduce risk and frequency of combined sewer overflows and basement backups during smaller, but more frequent, rain events

• Meet regulatory requirements as part of the Overflow Control Program

• Identify the number of sites required to achieve 3 million gallons of stormwater storage.

WHEN?

• Field survey for design work began September 2013

• Construction will begin spring 2015

• Kansas City Water Services assisted by Burns and McDonnell and its subconsultants TREKK Design Group, TSi Engineering, Taliaferro & Browne, Land 3 Studio, Shockey Consulting Services, Parson & Associates, and Phronesis Design.

WHERE?

The project area boundaries:

• Northern boundary - 73rd Street

• Southern boundary - 81st Street

• Eastern boundary - Prospect Avenue

• Western boundary - Troost Avenue

IMPROVEMENTS?

• Current activity includes identifying and developing conceptual designs for Green Infrastructure improvements.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

• Various field crews surveying and performing geotechnical investigations in specific locations throughout the project area

CONTRACT AMOUNT

Design professional services contract includes all services rendered through the construction phase of the project.
