• Linked card on iTunes, or added via photo of credit card – Pay via NFC based communications or as a web transaction

• Privacy – Credit card number is not stored, only device account number secured by

one time security code – Apple does not see where you were, what you bought, or how much it was – Merchant does not see your name, credit card number, or security code

• Share internet connections, data, SMS, phone service, and more – Answer a phone call on OS X, send an SMS from your iPad – Start writing an email on your iPhone, finish it on your Mac

• Touch ID API – Touch ID was added with iOS 7 and the iPhone 5S

• But was not available to third party app developers – With iOS 8, app developers can now leverage biometric authentication

• Streamline some authentication challenges, and increase security

• Extensions can extend the system and offer services to other apps – Allows developers to customize more of the OS interactions and UI

• Document Providers

– Extend iCloud document selection UI to include other document sources • Box, Dropbox, etc.

– Allow your app to integrate with these services without including their SDK • As a service provider, enjoy faster broader support without building an

ecosystem • As an app developer, don’t worry about integrating with each and every flavor

• iOS 8 has changed the format of the ActiveSync device identifier – If your enterprise runs scripts or integration off this value, keep an eye on it

• Set up reports to track upgrade rate, free space
