• Cellular line has a great bandwitdh, but subscription cost and power requirements are not that low.
• The industrial applications of smart devices usually ask for low bandwidth, except those who make video or audio streaming.

• SigFox is going to fill the spot between wi-fi and cellular line. Some application require indeed only few data transfers (like miniOMNIAlogdatalogger) and requires to run on battery for long periods of time. The ISM band is license-free.
• The idea for SigFox is that many m2m application runs on small batteryand only need few data to be transfered.

• The 169 Mhz Wireless M-Bus is the wireless variant of M-Bus standard. Born for remote reading of gas and electricity meters, soon become an european standard (EN13757).
• It was developed to provide a system for remote reading of utility meters, like consumption of electricy in the home.
