Iowa Junior Red Angus Association Auction ItemsAuction Items

The Iowa Junior Red Angus Association had a great year in 2015! We had 32 head at the field day show and 86 head at the Iowa State Fair open junior show. This shows a pretty sizable increase in both shows! We have also taken the big step in hosting our very own field day show to be held at the Clarke County Fairgrounds in Osceola June 10-11. We are looking forward to increasing our numbers as well as having some education presentations. We had amazing support at our auction that we hosted during the 2015 Iowa Beef Expo. That allowed us to offer a full scholarship to Red Round Up which the National Junior Red Angus Association sponsors, as well as purchasing some really nice awards for both the Field Day and the Open State Fair show. We also continued the tradition of giving colored rope halters instead of ribbons. We also supplied our Iowa juniors with t-shirts to attend the North American Red Angus Event. We also purchased a wagon for the families to fill with items to be auctioned off to help support the North American

Event. We are excited to support our Iowa juniors because we feel they are our future!! We also now have a junior board which will help with making decisions, and assist in getting items for our fund raising auction. They will also be helping with the booths at the Iowa Beef Expo and the Iowa State Fair. This is a great opportunity for our juniors to see how an organization works.Once again, the ag community and red angus breeders have stepped up and offered fantastic items for the 2016 Iowa Junior Red Angus fund raising auction. Please be sure and thank these generous supporters. Without their donations, our association would not be what it is! I have too many items to list, but I will post photos on the Iowa Junior Red Angus facebook page, as well as www.iowaredangus.com Items include several interior decorative wall hangings, etched glass items, and bar stools. • Iris is out of a first calf heifer and while she is not going to be the biggest heifer in the offering, I have no doubt she will have on problem keeping up with them in performance and production. She will be moderate framed, soft made, easy keeping kind of female. Just look at her fantastic EPD’s and well known pedigree. Eye appeal and performance wrapped up into one tidy package.

• 521 deserves a serious look! This is a calf that doesn’t come along very often. The huge spread between birth & W.W. & Y.W. is nothing short of spectacular. Top 1% in both W.W. & Y.W.!!
