The microalgae were cultivated in a bioreactor culture pond raceway type. The experiment is expected to be useful in mitigating the effects of greenhouse gases in reducing the CO2 emissions. The aim of this study was the sequestrate CO2 by Chlorella vulgaris under the different levels of CO2. The research activities include: (1) characterization of boiler flue gas, (2) operation of culture ponds, (3) Sampling and sample analysis. The results of this study showed that the initial assessment absorption of the flue gas by microalgae using 1000 L raceway pond completed by heat exchanger were quite promising. The results indicated that transfer of CO2 into the pond culture system was run well. This identified from the success of cooling the boiler flue gas from the temperature of about 200 °C to below ambient temperature. Except for the temperature, the gas bubbles into the culture media were quite fine. Therefore, the contact between the gas and the media was well performed. Efficiency of CO2 absorption by Chlorella vulgaris reached 0%, 99.8% and 96.2% with average CO2 level loading of 0%, 6.2% and 8.1% respectively .

Abstract: Face recognition is the important field in machine learning and pattern recognition research area. It has a lot of applications in military, finance, public security, to name a few. In this paper, the combination of the tensor sparse PCA with the nearest-neighbor method (and with the kernel ridge regression method) will be proposed and applied to the face dataset. Experimental results show that the combination of the tensor sparse PCA with any classification system does not always reach the best accuracy performance measures. However, the accuracy of the combination of the sparse PCA method and one specific classification system is always better than the accuracy of the combination of the PCA method and one specific classification system and is always better than the accuracy of the classification system itself.

Abstract: Entrepreneurship is complex because the dynamic advantage attained by entrepreneurs generally progresses along with a nation’s economic development. Undergraduate entrepreneurs are the key talent providers for the successful fiscal progress of a nation in the commercial context. The challenges of venturing into entrepreneurship are found in the start-up phase and in the transition of youths who may have missed out on numerous business prospects occurring at the local, regional, and national levels of a country. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigative the challenges faced by undergraduates and ascertain if business prospects are of great importance in nurturing successful undergraduate entrepreneurs in Malaysia. A qualitative method was used in the study [1]. Ten undergraduates participated in the study, who were chosen purposively as they were actively involved in business sectors. The findings indicate there were five crucial challenges faced by undergraduates in venturing into business: social rejection, facing criticism, financial constraints, dealing with stress and self-doubt, and facing age stereotypes. These were effective factors because the entrepreneurs lacked knowledge and exposure due to their youth and limited access to millennium business approaches. Further studies can be undertaken to determine entrepreneurial initiators’ capabilities and gauge their capacities in relation to various aspects of entrepreneurship to establish the capabilities required of millennials. Such research may corroborate the findings of this study and correlate with the challenges faced in entrepreneurial business contexts.

Abstract: This paper evaluates a newly developed adjustable nozzle system to deliver cutting fluid accurately to the cutting zone in milling operation. The cooling system makes use of two nozzles that can be positioned at any location around the cutting zone that is unique compared to other designs that are limited in their range of positioning angle. The nozzles were connected to a mixing compartment that was able to deliver a fine mist of vegetable-oil-based cutting fluid. As the new system is operating on gravity feed basis to deliver the cutting, a decrease of 80% in the consumption of cutting fluid compared to the flood condition was noted. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the effectiveness of this new adjustable cooling system against dry and

flood condition in the milling operation of on pure titanium grade 2 (CP Ti grade-2). The quality of the surface roughness of untreated pure titanium grade 2 was investigated. Apart from the low consumption in cutting fluid, it was also found that by applying a new adjustable nozzle system to the milling operation, lower surface roughness was achieved. The depth of cut was found to be the most significant milling parameters followed by spindle speed and feed rate.

Abstract: Platelets form a plug to prevent blood loss during vascular damage. In addition to bleeding protection, activated platelets also release substances contributing to wound healing. Kradonbok, Careya sphaerica Roxb., is a Thai plant with medical properties. Traditionally, leaves of C. sphaerica are being used to stop bleeding and help wound healing in Thailand. This study was aimed to evaluate the effect of C. sphaerica on platelet activation. We hypothesize that the leaf of C. sphaerica enhances platelet activation. Four different extracts of leaves of C. sphaerica (distilled water, methanol, ethanol, and chloroform extracts) were prepared. The extracts at 5.0 mg/ml dose were tested for investigating the effect of C. sphaerica on human platelet adhesion and aggregation properties, by employing microtiter plate approach. The phytochemical identification was performed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Our data revealed that only chloroform extract significantly activated thrombin-induced platelet adhesion (105.27%, p<0.05). None of the exstracts exhibited improvement in platelet aggregation. Further GC-MS analysis of chloroform extract revealed five key phytochemical constituents with potential platelet activation properties. In conclusion, our study evaluated platelet activation and potentially wound healing property of C. sphaerica. GC-MS analysis suggested potential bioactive phytochemical compounds in C. sphaerica, where further investigation is recommended in order to characterize these compounds.

Abstract: Krajub (Trapa bispinosa Roxb.) is a aquatic floating plant found in Thailand. It is used for food which high starch content. This research aim to study the physicochemical properties of Krajub starch between two different preparations so as to understand and apply in phamaceutical and cosmetic products. The Krajub starches were prepared by drying (KJOG) and spray dry (KGSD) methods. The morphology, particle size and size distribution, whiteness, chemical analysis, viscosity and thermal properties of starches were analyzed. The results showed that KJOG had different in shape and morphology more than KJSD. The KJOG and KJSD had small size with a range of 1.13-1.28 m. However the KJSD had narrow in size distriubution when compared with KJOG. The color of KJOG and KJSD were slightly brown and brown, respectively. KJOG showed 5.79% ash, 3.79% moisture, 2.20% fiber, 6.90% starch, 24.78% amylose and viscosity more than KJSD while lower than in fat and protein content. Amylose in Krajub starches was positively correlated to viscosity. KJSD needed energy more than KJOG to initiate starch gelatinization. %Retrogradation KJOG and KJSD was not significantly diference. These results indicate that Krajub starches provides good physicochemical properties and could be applied in pharmaceutical excipient and cosmetic multi-functional additive ingredient.
8 014-hcm A comparison of the Bayesian estimation of two parameters for Weibull distribution Yada Pornpakdee1, Tammarat Kleebmek2
Department of Mathematics and Applied Statistics, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Nakhonratchasima, Thailand. [email protected], [email protected]
Abstract: In this paper the Bayesian estimates of two-parameter Weibull distribution is considered. It is widely known that the Bayesian estimators of the two-parameter Weibull distribution do not have a compact form. In this paper, it is assumed that the scale parameter has a Weibull prior and the shape parameter has a log-concave prior, and they are independently distributed. Under the above priors, this paper uses Gibbs sampling technique to generate samples for the posterior density function. Based on the generated samples, one can compute the Bayesian estimates of the unknown parameters and can also develop the highest posterior density credible intervals. This paper also computes the approximate Bayesian estimates using Lindley’s approximation under the

assumption of Weibull priors of the shape parameter. Simulations are performed to compare the performances of the Bayesian estimators with the classical estimators. Simulation results suggest that the Bayesian estimates with non- informative priors behave like the maximum likelihood estimates, but for informative priors the Bayesian estimates behave much better than the maximum likelihood estimates.

ancient Greece. Such studies have typically focused on the language employed by the speaker, the credibility of the speaker, the delivery style of the speaker, and how the speaker structured their argument. An analysis of the argumentative structure of English oral presentations delivered by freshmen and sophomore students at a university in Japan is the focus of this study. In particular, this study analyzes whether presenters front-loaded their argument (first stated their thesis statement explicitly in the introduction section of their presentation) or whether they back-loaded their argument (first stated their thesis statement explicitly in the conclusion), and if this affected the perceived clarity of the presentation. An analysis of 40 English oral presentations delivered by Japanese university students reveals that almost all of the participants front-loaded their arguments, but that there were subtle differences regarding how they set up their thesis statement in the introduction section, depending on whether the participants were novice speakers or more experienced speakers. This study has implications for English language instructors as well as for researchers studying rhetoric and oral presentations.

Design of Indicators for Prediction of Success or Failure in the Entrance Examination According to Korean Education Based Accumulated Learning Outcome Data Ji-hoon Seo, Kil-hong Joo Department of Computer Education, Gyeongin National University of Education, Anyangsi, Republic of Korea
Abstract: The present study extracted meaningful data from domestic students’ accumulated past learning outcome data utilizing the Educational Data Mining (EDM) analysis technique and processed the data to design a university entrance probability prediction model and derive indicators that can be utilized by learners in the prediction of university entrance examination results. The existing EDM technique focused only on studies for the promotion of learners’ learning outcomes and the enhancement of education thereby becoming an element that hinders the diversity of fields. The design model presented in the present paper proposed analysis modeling to semantically classify individual learners’ training data tables based on the basic policy of Korean education for the entrance examination in order to create position models suitable for the attributes of prediction and predict university entrance examination routes.
