Cork is a Natural Material and as such Variation in Color, Shade and Texture is a Natural and Attrative Characteristic
Cork is harvested from the renewable bark of the cork oak tree and is a completely natural product. The trees are not damaged or felled during the harvest. This 100% ecological
truly “green” and sustainable material.
harvested from a tree until it is 25 years old and the tree can live up to 200 years , being harvested once every 9 years. Today, cork oaks are stripped of their bark by hand in the same way they traditionally have been for several hundred years. The trees are not damaged in the harvest and the bark grows back completely time and again, taking on a smoother texture after each harvest. The bark harvested is used in entirety in a wide variety of products, starting with wine stoppers; All of the excess materials are recycled and
of nature’s truly inexhaustible resources. The unique structure and composition of cork creates the three most important characteristics in its application as
walk on, resilience under foot and absorb foot step sound.
