In2008,2.7millionpeopleworldwidewerenewlyinfected
withHIV
Inthesameyear,about2millionpeoplediedfromAIDS-relatedillnesses
Worldwidethereareabout2.1millionchildrenlivingwith
HIV,andatotalof33.4millionpeopleintotal.Outofthose,
5.4millionyoungpeoplefrom15to24yearsoldareliving
withHIV
Thereisaboutonenewinfec+onevery10seconds
InAfricathereareabout12millionorphanswholosttheirparentsduetoAIDS

Why do WE need to get involved?
Weaspharmacystudentsandyoungpharmacists,are
intheposi+onofbeinghealthcareproviderswhoare
inprimarycontactwithourpa+ents.Wehavethe
knowledgeofhowHIVandAIDSspreadsandwe
knowtheimportanceofitspreven+on/therapies;
hence,weareintheperfectposi+ontoprovide
counselingandhelptoourpa+ents.Onlybysharing
thisknowledgecanwereallyhelpotherpeople.
Whenwespreadtheknowledgeamong
people,wecandrawmoreandmore
aen+ontotheeffectsofHIV.
Thisnewsleeraimstoprovideyouwith
someideasonhowtorunyourown
campaign,howtospreadallthe
knowledgeyouvegainedonthecondi+on
andhowtoimprovethesitua+onregarding
HIVandAIDS.
