IRIS – ARAN Integration.

Making the full-text of an article freely available through NUI Galway’s Institutional

Repository -ARAN.

1. Log in to IRIS (https://iris.nuigalway.ie/) and click on the Edit Profile tab.

2. Select the publication type you wish to upload full-text to Aran.

7. Click “Send to Repository”.

8. Add copyright information and agree to license:

a) Specify whether you have checked copyright. If you know that the version of the article you have uploaded

can be made freely available under open access select “Yes I’ve checked...”, if you don’t know or are not sure

check “No I haven’t, please check for me” and library staff will check the publisher’s policy on open access.

b) Indicate the version you are submitting: “Draft”, “Submitted version”, “Accepted Version”, “Published

Version”, “Updated version”.

c) Confirm agreement with deposit agreement and end user licence. Researchers submitting material to ARAN

must do so under the terms of a deposit agreement and a user license .The deposit agreement outlines the

responsibilities of the depositor and of the library, while the user license outlines conditions under which a user

can use material deposited in ARAN. The deposit agreement has been framed by the Technology Transfer Office

and the Creative Commons Share-a-like end-user license has been approved by the Technology Transfer Office.
