This Indian Standard was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards, after the draft finalized bythe Pesticides Sectional Committee had been approved by the Food and Alriculturo DivisionCouncil.

Cartap hydrochloride G are used in the control of insect pests in agriculture.

Cartap hydrochloride G is generally manufactured to contain 4 percent (mlm) of Cartaphydrochloride.

In the preparation of this standard, due consideration bas been given to the provisions of theIllsectlcltk8~cl,1968 and the Rules framed thereunder and Standartb o/Welghtl and MetUurel( Packaged Commodities v Rule8, 1977. However, this standard is subjected to the restrictionsimposed under these, wherever applicable.

Por the purpose of deciding whether a particular requirement ot this standard is complied with,the final value, observed or calculated, expressing the result of a test or analysis, shall be roundedoff in accordance with IS 2 : 1960 'Rules for rounding off numerical values ( rnl8ed)t. Thenumber of significant places retained in the rounded off value should be the same as that of thospecified value in this standard.

3.3 Chemical

3.3.2 The pH of 1 percent (m/m) aqueousextract of the material shall be between 3·0 and4·5 when tested by the method described in13.5.4.1 of IS 6940 : 1982.

The material shall comply with the chemicalrequirements specified in 3.3.1 and 3.3.2.

3.3.1 Cartap Hydrochloride Content

When determined by the method prescribed inAnnex A of IS 14159 : 1994, the observed cartaphydrochloride content ( mlm), of any of thesamples shall not differ from the nominal valueby more than the percent tolerances applied tothe declared nominal valueand as given below:

However, the criteria CorconCormity of the material when tested, shallbe the limits of tolerances, as applicable overthe declared nominal value and given under3.3.1 of this alandard.

7 TISTS

7.1 Tests shall be carried out by the appropriatemethods referred to in 3.2.2 to 3.Z.~, 3.3.1 and3.3.2-
