BAPTISM PREP CLASS….. This class introduces parents to the Rite

of Baptism, emphasizes the parents’ role in the faith formation of

their children and reviews the qualifications of Godparents. The

class is required if you are seeking the sacrament of Baptism for

your child. Our next class will be on Tuesday, January 10th at 7

PM in the Parish Office. Please call the Parish Office for details and

to RSVP. BOOK CLUB… The Holy Trinity Book Club will meet on Monday,

January 30, 2017 at 7:00PM in the Parish Center. Our book for

this month is: “Snow in August” by Pete Hamill. Set in Brooklyn in

1947, 11 year old Michael, an Irish Catholic boy, befriends a refu-

gee Rabbi from Prague, but Michael’s friends turn against him for

befriending a Jew. This is a book of depth and meaning when it

comes to hate and prejudice and against any minority or group of

BUS TRIP TO WASHINGTON DC… The Knights of Columbus, Fr.

Ragan Council 3269 is sponsoring a bus trip to Washington DC

on Jan 26th to Jan 27th for the annual Rally and March for Life

event. The bus will depart from Fr. Ragan Council Hall, 1783

Moore Road, Avon, OH on Thursday, Jan 26th at 8 PM and return

by Friday, January 27th at Midnight. The trip will include a morn-

ing visit and Mass at the Basilica of Immaculate Conception. From

the Basilica the bus will go to the National Mall for the rally, speak-

ers and the march to the Supreme Court Building. The bus will

depart DC by 4 PM for the return trip to Avon. Cost is $80 per

adult and $25 per H.S. or College student. For more information

2017 MASS 4 LIFE CLEVELAND…..Each year on January 22nd we

observe a Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Chil-

dren, remembering the anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade Supreme

Court decision. This year the 2017 Diocesan Mass 4 Life will be

held on Sunday morning, January 22nd at 10:30 AM at the Ca-

thedral of St. John the Evangelist. There will be an optional Ro-

sary for Life following the liturgy which will add another dimension

to our dedication and prayer for human life.

MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER… Give your spouse the gift of your time

and love by taking him/her on a Worldwide Marriage Encounter

Weekend. The next Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend will

be held in Hudson at the Clarion Inn and Conference Center on

February 17-19, 2017. Applications and further info available

ONLY. Requests can be made by filling out the request form lo-

cated on the back shelves in the church, by calling the Parish Of-

fice or emailing your requests to: [email protected]. The

request form can also be found on our website:

form. Please plan ahead and allow us ample time to forward your

statement. Faith Direct will provide End of Year Statements to all

who are enrolled in our e-giving program.

Family Perspective

Herod was frightened of Jesus. He feared Jesus would replace him and he would lose control. In families fear appears when we are threatened by what is out of our control. We fret but it does no good. Give these situations to the Lord and let Him Lead us like He led the Magi.
