2. In todays world it is expected that you go to college. The question is whether or not it is worth it. College is expensive, but it seems like to succeed in the world you have to have a degree. The value in a college degree has increased in the past 15 years. Before you could make a decent living without a degree, however nowadays its more crucial to go to school so that you can make it in todays society. Does College Have Value? 3. By not going to college you set yourself up to make less money and have a higher chance of becoming unemployed The Facts 4. However, as important as college is it is expensive. 75% of Americans say that college is too expensive to afford. 5. Despite the cost of college, 86% of college graduates say that college was a very good investment. 6. If you go to college, you are more likely to get married. In 2008, 62% of 30 year old college graduates were married compared to 60% of 30 year year olds without a college degree 7. Because of the price of paying for college, you are more likely to borrow money in college. In 2008 college graduates had gotten 50% more loans than in 1996. 8. High school students should be informed about college. After high school, we have to make decisions about our future and the rest of our lives. We cant make decisions about college with a skewed perception of what the costs are of going and what the benefits are of going. You have a better chance economically and relationship wise by going to college. Is it worth it? Yes, yes it is. Why should you care?
