    PREFACE

This publication, "Is the TRINITY DOCTRINE Divinely Inspired?", should serve as food forthought to every right minded person and the followers of Modern Christianity. Theconcept of the Trinityhas baffled every Christian denomination. Although Mr. M. A. C.Cave was a Christian who believed in the Trinity before, when he carried-out his research

into the origin of this doctrine, he discovered to his utter amazement that it was a laterdevelopment conceived and engineered by various Christian writers and thinkers.

Mr. M. A. C. Cave builds up evidence that the Trinity is nothing but a man- made doctrinethat falls short of being a revelation from God. Subsequently, this tailor-made doctrinelost its angularity on account of built-in contradictions and proved thorny on the side ofChristian hierarchy in general and the clergy in particular who are trying to prop it up.

It is unacceptable on the part of the right thinking person to hold to this dogma inspite ofall its flaws. Man being rational, he should be more critical of issues of spiritual aspectwhich are vital to his life. He should attempt to peep into others religious scriptures

around for a convincing truth. And, he should not let himself be a victim of complacencyand blindfaith as in the past. Try to reflect on the verses of the Scriptures:

I appeal to the reader to examine this book with an unbiased mind and open heart to thetruth because this is the only way that may lead to the right decision that shapes one'slife in this world and the world to come.

    INTODUCTION

Nothing offends more the Christians than to cast doubt about the doctrine of the Trinity, the fountainhead of their faith. Since I grew up as a Christian, I know by heart that it willsurely injures a devout follower of Christianity something he Knew as true. But to lend ablind eye when I know better is far from righteousness since I am bound by the God'sCommandments to guide those mislead by the false doctrine. It is a basic right of everyindividual to know the truth that will lead him to the right path.

It is an established fact, that man was created a rational being, hence, he possess thecapacity of reason. Associated with it, man have always the inclination to seek for thetruth. Therefore, as an individual, he is expected to reason out things objectively in allhis words and actions to reach his goal. Further, he is complimented with the freedom of

choice to enable him to adjust in a civilized society. It is equally true that no one has theright to force him to accept even the truth. Nevertheless, it is a kind of arrogance andobstinacy for a rational being to reject the truth. Men of principle does not only upholdthe TRUTH, even a bitter truth, but also are ready to defend that truth under anycircumstance up to the extent of sacrificing their own lives.

The Trinity is so deep-rooted among the Christians that seldom could one consider theimplications of the 'three-in-one God. Although its orgin is from the pagan belief majorityof them never question the veracity of such doctrine being unaware that it is man-madeand not of God breathed. The Trinity doctrine declares:

"The Father is God, the Son is God, the Holy Spi r i t is God and together , not

exc lus ive ly , they f rom one God. The Tr in i ty is co-eternal , w i thout beginn ing or end,

    and c o-equal." (1)

Jesus (Pbuh), is considered by the Trinitarians as having two natures-human and divine. He is believed to be the Son of God and full God as being the second person of theGodhead of the Trinity doctrine.

However, in this book, readers will discover that some revealed truths have beendeliberately perverted by the Christian thinkers, scribes, theologians, writers, evangelistsand the churches in order to substantiate their claim of the Trinity doctrine as "divinely

inspired". Before long, Prophet Jeremiah (Pbuh) warned the people about the corruptionmade in the revelation by those who teach the religion of God. He says:

"How can you say, 'We are w ise, and the law of the LORD is wi t h us '? But, behold,

the fa lse pen of the sc r ibes has made i t in t o a l ie ." (Jeremiah 8:8, the Bible)

As regards to the false concept of worship, Prophet Jesus (Pbuh) repeated to us thewarning given by Prophet Isaiah (Pbuh), but the people are indeed heedless. He says:

"This people honours me wi th the i r l ips, but the i r hear t is far f rom me; in va in do

they w orsh ip me, teach ing as doc t r ines the p recepts o f m en." (Matthew 15:8, the Bible).

My decision to embark on this venture sprang out of my quest for truth about theconcept of the Trinity. The research was not only confined to the Scriptures, but also totreatise and articles of religious scholars. Some of their works proved sensational andreceived approval from Christian denominations.

The research was undertaken with an open mind in view of my previous belief in theTrinity doctrine. In fact, the idea originated to look for tangible evidence to prove itsauthenticity, and not the way around, bearing in mind that it had its origin from God.Further, in order to be objective I have used reference material that I could lay my hands

    on.

Indeed, it was a soul-searching effort on my part to weigh the evidences as they keptpiling. Unfortunately, as the research progressed, the doctrine of the Trinity passed on togenerations as the ultimate truthbecame moribund. Had the result been in its favor, itwould have illuminated my heart. However, to my. dismay, I found it to be wrong. Thisman-made doctrine was coined by people to serve their selfish and vested interests. Thus, all the previous claims turned out to be absolutely false. The Trinity doctrine is notonly against the teachings of the prophets of God but also is an insult to human intellectbecause it is contrary to reason and nowhere to be found in the Bible.

    Fina l l y , the b i t te r t ru th i s tha t i t demol i shes the Tr in i ty and Incarna t ion doc t r ines together wi th a l l re la ted bel ie fs . To worship God accord ing to His revealed

I beckon 'one and all' to look for truth in my work which could open the hearts of those

Now here comes, the Bi l l ion Dol lar Quest ion: " Is The TRINITY DOCTRINE Divinely

    Inspired?"

    THECHRISTIANS

Close to a billion people around the world continue to believe and practice thedoctrine of the Trinitywhile twofold of them, if not more, reject it outright on the groundthat it is not biblical but also fallacious, baseless, senseless, repugnant and contrary toreason.

According to Bamber Gascoigne, in his book "The Christians": For the first fifty years ofwhat we now call the Christian Era, not a word survives in any document about Christ orhis followers. During the next fifty years, the Christians themselves wrote down most ofthe books that now make up the New Testament. But still not a word, with one smallexception, from any outside writer. And then, in the second century, Roman authorsbegan to comment: (5)

"There is a group, hated for their abominations, called Christians by the people.Christus, from whom the name comes, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign ofTiberius at the hands of one of our officials, Pontius Pilate." (Tacitus)

"The Christians are a class of men given to a new and wicked superstition."(Suetonius)

"The poor wretches have convinced themselves that they are going to be immortaland live for all time, by worshipping the crucified sophist and living under his laws. Therefore, they despise the things of this world, and consider them common property. They receive these doctrine by tradition, without any definite evidence. So if anycharlatan or trickster comes among them, he quickly acquires wealth by imposing upon

    these simple folk." (Lucian)

Nevertheless, Christianity flourished and became one big religion, but the teachings ofModern Christianity as we know it today, is different from what was taught by Jesus(Pbuh) to his disciples. The different doctrines of Christianity like the Trinitywas a laterdevelopment. Its inception began during the reign of Emperor Constantine the Great at(Nicaea) and later developed into a full blown dogma at the time of Emperor Theodosiusin 381 C.E. What a strange! Since then, Christianity has multiplied into many differentsects and it is difficult now to recognize the true Christian faith. But whatever it is, in thepresent context, none is close to the original teachings of the prophets. They based theirteachings on the Bible which is subject to continues revision.

God a lone knows when Chr is t ians w i l l be ab le to p roduce the cor rec t (au thent i c )

copy of t he i r Scr ip ture (Bib le).

One wonders, at the number of versions of the Bible in circulation today. Each one isdifferent from the other, yet, each claims to be the original version. They have acquired ataste to declare to the world that theirs is divinely inspired. Their ready reference is in (II

Timothy 3:1, The Bible), which says: "All scripture is inspired by God"Bu t wha t the

Chr is t ians do not understand is that , "substant ia l ly , the contents of the i r Bib les are

not Scr ip tures but on ly s tor ies, accounts, events and t rad i t ions." The problem

become more complex when we come to know that some versions of the Bible containmore books than the others. The Orthodox Version (OVC), contain 86 books; the

Charismatic Version(CV), contain 76 books; the Roman Catholic Version(RCV), contain

73 books and all the Protestant versions, contain 66 books including the New World

Translation of the Holy Scripture [1984] (NW), used by the Jehovah's Witnesses andother versions like the King James[1611 1942] (KJ), American Standard[1901 1944](AS), Revised Standard [1971] Second Edition (RS) Jerusalem Bible [1966] (JB), GoodNews Bible Today's English Version [1976] (TEV), The Holy Bible (1954: as printed in1956), Ronald A. Knox (Kx), New International Version (NIV), and countless otherversions.

Moreover, how about the allegations of the distinguished Revisers of the Bible of theRevised Standard Version (RS), Revised Edition of 1952 and for the New Testament,Second Edition of 1971, by Wm. Collins Sons & Co. Ltd, published for Canadian BibleSociety, which says in its Preface: (1) "Yet the King James Version have gravedefects.. these defects are so many and so serious as to call for revision of the Englishtranslation." (2) "The king James Version of the New Testament was based upon a Greektext that was marred by mistakes"How about the charges of the Jehovah's Witnessesintheir Awakepublication of September 1951 which states: "The Bible has 50,000 error!"

And, how about if I say that contrary to our beliefs "none of the four Gospel writers wereoriginal disciples of Jesus (Pbuh)." In (Luke 6:14-16 and Mark 3:17, The Bible), we find

the names of the twelve disciples appointed by Jesus (Pbuh). While the names ofMatthew and Johnare included, the names of Mark, Luke and Paulare not mentioned.

    However , f rom the fo l low ing quota t ions , you w i l l d i scover tha t the two Gospe ls

a t t r ibu ted to Mat thew and John respect i ve ly , were wr i t ten by th i rd persons . Readthe reproductions of the verse in (Matt. 9:9, The Bible):

    "As Jesus passed on f rom there , he saw a man ca l led Mat thew s i t t i ng a t the tax

of f ice and he sa id t o h im, 'Fo l low me. ' And he rose and fo l lowed h im ."

And in (John 21:23, The Bible):

"Th is i s the d isc ip le who i s bear ing w i tness to these th ings , and who has wr i t ten

    these th ings ; and we k now t ha t h is tes t im ony i s t rue ."

In the first instance, the writer merely narrated what had transpired between Jesus(Pbuh) and the man Matthew, while in the second instance, it is obvious that the pronoun"We" stands as the writer.

Let us now reflect on what the two Christian Scholars say about the making of the Bible:

"A copyist would sometimes put in not what was in the text, but what he taught out tobe in it. He would trust a fickle memory, or he would make the text accord with the viewsof the School to which he belonged. In addition to the versions and quotations from theChristian Fathers, nearly four thousand Greek MSS (Manuscript) of the Testament, wereknown to exist. As a result the variety of reading is considerable."(6)

"Thus Gospels were produced which clearly reflected the conception of the practicalneeds of the community for which they were written. In them the traditional material wasused, but there was no hesitation in altering it or making additions to it, or in leaving outwhat did not suit the writer's purpose."(7)

    HOW THE TRINITYDEVELOPED INTOA CHRISTIANDOCTRINE

Persecution of the Christians and the suppression of the early Church under the Romanemperors which began in the first century, ended with the coming into power of

Constantine the Great at the Milvian Bridge in 312 C.E. Consequently, throughconversion to Christianity special favors were offered to the people in the form ofpolitical, military and social gains. As a result, thousands of non-Christians joined theChurch and enabled Constantine to wield great power over the Church affairs.

It was during the reign of Constantine that the idea of Jesus Christ as co-equal to God,the Father began to gain momentum. Yet, Trinity was not an established doctrine at thattime. The idea of a triune god stirred great controversy within the Church as still manyclergy and laymen did not accept the position of Christ as God. (12)This disagreement reached the level of confrontation between Bishop Alexander ofAlexandria, Egypt and his presbyter Arius. Bishop Alexander taught that Jesus wasequal to God but not Arius. So at a synod held at Alexandria in 321 C.E., Arius wasdeposed and excommunicated. (13)Arius, tought in institutional disfavor, still had much support outside Egypt. Many of theimportant bishops, such as the learned historian Eusebius of Palestinian Caesarea andhis powerful namesake, Eusebius, Bishop of Nicomedia, theologically agree with Arius:Jesus Chr is t is not God. (14)The sustained controversy disturbed Constantine and in order to legitimatize his

position, he invited all bishops of the Christian Church to Nicaea (which is now in AsiaMinor) in May 325 C.E. Thus, the Council of Nicaea began to settle the disputeconcerning the relationship between God and His son. Constantine, who was in chargeof the proceedings, exercised his political power to bring to bear the bishops to accepthis theological position. The creed signed by 218 bishops was clearly anti-Arian. In otherwords, the Creed of Nicaea endorsed the Son as co-equal to God. Two hundred eighteenof the bishops signed this creed, although it was actually the work of a minority. (15)The Encyclopedia Britannica summarizes the proceedings of the Council of Niacea asfollows:

The Council of Niacea met on May 20, 325. Constantine himself presiding, activelyguiding the discussion, and personally proposed (no doubt on Ossius'prompting) thecrucial formula expressing the relation of Christ to God in the creed issued by thecouncil, "o f one subs tance w i th t he Fa ther ." Over-awed by the emperor, the bishops, with two exceptions only, signed the creed, many of them against their inclination.

Constantine regarded the decision of Nicaea as divinely inspired. As long as he livedno one dared openly to challenge the Creed of Nicaea; but the expected concord did notfollow. (16)

    The Creed of Nicaea

We believe in one God the Father All-sovereign, maker to all things visible and invisible; And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, begotten of the Father, only-begotten, that

is, of the substance of the Father, God of God, Light of Light, true God of true God,begotten not made, of one substance with the Father, through whom all things weremade, things in heaven and things on the earth; who for us men and for our salvationcame down and was made flesh, and became man, suffered, and rose on the third day, ascended into the heavens, is coming to judge living and dead. And in the Holy Spirit,And those that say 'There was when he was not,' and, 'Before he was begotten he was

not,' and that, 'He came into being from what-is-not; or those that allege, that the son ofGod is 'Of another substance or essence'

    Or 'created,'Or, 'changeable'Or 'alterable,'

These the Catholic and Apostolic Church anathematizes.

    "The 'Nicaea' Creed

Bettenson explains the Nicene Creed as follows:

[It was] found in Epiphanius, Ancoratus, 118, C.A.D. 374, and extracted by scholars, almost word for word, from the Catechetical Lectures of S. Cyril of Jerusalem; readand approved at Chalcedon, 451, as the creed of '(the 318 fathers who met at Nicaeaand that of) the 150 who met at a later time' (i.e., at Constantinopolitan, 381). Henceoften called the Constantinopolitan or Nicaeno-Constantinopolitan Creed, andthought by many to be a revision of the creed of Jerusalem held by Cyril.

    We believe in one God the Father All-sovereign, maker of heaven and earth, and of allthings visible and invisible;

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, Begotten of the Fatherbefore all ages, Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten not made, of onesubstance with the father, through whom all things were made; who for us men andfor our salvation came down from the heavens, and was made flesh of the Holy Spiritand the Virgin Mary, and became man, and was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried, and rose again on the third day according to theScriptures, and ascended into the heavens, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father, and cometh again with glory to judge living and dead, of whose kingdom there shallbe no end:

And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and the Life-giver, that proceedeth from the Father, who

with Father and Son is worshipped together and glorified together, who spakethrough the prophets:In one holy Catholic and Apostolic Church:

We acknowledge one baptism unto remission of sins. We look for a resurrection of thedead, and the life of the age to come. (17)

Though the Council of bishops accepted the Creed of Nicaeathere was no mention of theTrinity.

The cont roversy over the nature of Jesus cont inued for severa l decades. In the year

    381 C.E. a second ecumenica l counci l met in Constant inople. (18) Th is counc i l

adopted t he Nicene Creedstat ing that Jesus and God were c o-equal , co-eternal and

the dei ty o f the Holy Spi r i t . The doctr ine of the Tr in i ty came to be formal ly

establ ished as the cornerstone of Chr is t ian fa i th for the next f i f teen c entur ies.

Trinitarian group of Osiris, Isis, and Hourus . . . Nor is it only in historical religions thatwe find God viewed as a Trinity. One recalls in particular the new-Platonic view of theSupreme or Ultimate Reality." Which is "triadically represented."

The New Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge shows the influence ofthis Greek philosophy: "The doctrines of the Logos and the Trinity received their shapefrom Greek Fathers, who. . . were much influenced, directly or indirectly, by the Platonic

philosophy. . . That errors and corruptions crept into the Church from this source cannotbe denied."

The Church of the First Three Centuries says:"The doctrine of the Trinity was of gradual and comparatively late formation; it had itsorigin in a source entirely foreign from that of the Jewish and Christian Scriptures;. . . itgrew up, and was grafted in Christianity, through the hands of the PlatonizingFathers."(21)Sculptures of gods with three faces were found in several parts of the world (e.g.,Kampuchea, [Triune Buddhist godhead, c. 12th century C.E.]; Italy, [Trinity, c. 15th century

C.E.];. Norway, [Trinity (Father, Son, Holy spirit), c.13th century C.E.]; France, [Trinity, c.14th century C.E.]; Germany, [Trinity, c.19th century C.E.]; India, [Triune Hindu godhead, c.7th century C.EI.]; S.Falmyra, (Triad of moon god, Lord of Heavens, sun god, c.1st centuryC.E.]; Babylon, [Triad of , Ishtar, Sin Shamash, 2nd millennium B.C.E.] and Egypt, [Triad ofHorus, Osiris, Isis, 2nd millennium B.C.E.]).(22)

    JUSTIFICATIONOFTHETRINITYBYTHETRINITARIANS

Giants of Christendom, in an attempt to rescue the Trinity, tried all available means tojustify the doctrine. However, after exhausting all known logics and human reasons,

failed miserably and declared it to be a "MYSTERY". The following are some ofstatements given by head of the Churches, eminent Christian Theologians and knownwriters who came boldly to defend it with temerity:

    "The most Ho ly Tr in i ty i s a m yste ry in the s t r i c tes t sense o f t he w ord . For reason

a lone cannot prove the ex is tence of a Tru ine God, Revelat ion teaches i t . And even

af ter t he ex is t ence of the myst ery has been revealed to us, i t rem ains impossib le for

the hum an in te l lect to grasp how the Three Persons have put one Div ine Nature." (23)

Catholic scholars karl Rahner and Herbert Vorgimler stated in their TheologicalDictionary: "The Tr in i ty is a mystery . . . in the str ic t sense . . . , which could not be

    known w i thou t reve la t ion , and even a f te r reve la t ion cannot become who l l y

in te l l ig ib le ."

"A dogma so myster ious presupposes a Div ine revelat ion." (The CatholicEncyclopedia)

"God is one, and God is three. Since there is noth ing l ike th is in creat ion, we

    cannot unders tand i t , bu t on ly accept i t . " (Monsignor Eugene Clark)

    THETRINITYDOCRINEWAS NOTTAUGHTBYTHEEARLYCHRISTIANS

The expression "God the Father", "God the Son"and "God the Holy Spirit" is not onlysynonymous to Christianity but the core of Christian belief.

However, this belief considered as the fountainhead of the Christian religion was notknown or advocated by Jesus (Pbuh) or the early Christians. The Apostolic Fathers andthose of the succeeding generations up to the last quarter of the 4 th century C.E. neverhave thought of a triune God. They believed in One Omnificent, Omnipotent, Omniscientand Transcendent Creator Who alone is to be worshipped.

The following authentic reports taken from different Christian authorities speak forthemselves:

"The formulat ion 'one God in three Persons ' was not so l id ly estab l ished in to

Chr is t ian l i fe and i ts profess ion of fa i th , pr ior to t he end of the 4th c entury. But i t is

Among the Aposto l ic Fathers there had been noth ing even remote ly approaching

    such a m enta l i ty o r perspec t i ve . " (25)

The doctrine of the Trinity was coined by the Christians about three hundred years afterJesus. The four Canonical Gospels, written between 70 and 115 C.E., contain noreference to the Trinity. Even St. Paul, who imported many foreign ideas into Christianity, knew nothing of the Triune God. The New Catholic Encyclopaedia 4(bearing the NhilObstat and Imprimature, indicating official approval) admits that the doctrine of theTrinity was unknown to the early Christians and that it was formulated in the last quarter

    of the 4th century:

    " I f i s d i f f i cu l t , i n the second ha lf o f the 20 t h cen tu ry t o o f fe r a c lear , ob jec t i ve ,

    DOESTHE BIBLETEACH

THETRINITYDOCTRINE?While the Bible is preached and believed as the Word of God, it does not contain thecelebrated doctrine of the Trinity. If this Trinity doctrine were true, it should be clearlypresented in the Bible because we need to know God and the way to worship Him.

Not anyone among the prophets of God from Adam down to Jesus (Pbut), had theconcept of the Trinity or a Triune God. No one of the messengers of God spoke anyveiled statement to that effect or is there any reference either in the Old or NewTestaments of the Bible confirming of such doctrine. It is, therefore, strange that neitherJesus (Pbuh) nor his disciples speak about the Trinity in the Bible. On the contrary,

Jesus (pbuh) says: "The Lord our God, the Lord is one. . . " (Mark 12:29, The Bible). And according to St. Paul: "Men of Israe l , hear these w ords: Jesus of Nazareth, a man

a t tes ted to you by God w i th migh ty works and wonders and s igns wh ich God d id

through h im in your midst , as you yourselves know ." (Acts 2:22, The Bible)

The above verses speak for themselves. Why should one bother over a doctr ine fu l l

o f confus ion when Chr is t ian scholars of the h ighest eminence are unable to

in terpret or expla in i t in te l l ig ib ly?

Jesus (Pbuh) has rightfully prophesied this kind of problem in (Matthew 15:8-9, The

    Bible):"This people honours me w i th t he i r l ips, but t he i r hear t is far f rom m e; in va in

do they w orship me, teach ing as doc t r ines the p recept s o f men."

In addition, it was followed by St. Paul in (2 Timothy 4:3-4, The Bible): "For the t ime i s

coming when people wi l l not endure sound teaching, but having i tch ing ears they

    w i l l accumula te fo r themse lves teachers to su i t the i r own l i k ings , and w i l l t u rn away

f rom l i s ten ing to the t ru th and w ander in to myt hs ."

Further we also read in (Titus 2:26, The Bible): "They p ro fess to know God, bu t they

deny h im by t he i r deeds; they are det estable, d isobedient , unf i t for any good deed."

    In the m ids t o f t h is d i lemm a, g rea t m inds among the Chr is t ians exhausted a l l know n

log ic to lend c redence to the doc t r ine o f Tr in i ty bu t fa i led miserab ly and

subsequent ly declared i t to be a mystery . However, the worship of Almighty God

cannot be compromised. He wants man to worsh ip H im a lone accord ing to H is

Div ine Guidance. Being Himsel f Just , i t fo l lows that His just ice demands that His

Message must be c lear and s imple in form. I ts teachings, as a whole, must be

    devoid o f any f law, supers t i t i on and con fus ion. I t m ust be an abso lute t ru th t ha t c an

    a lways w i ths tand the cha l lenge o f any k ind o f knowledge inc lud ing human

discover ies in the f ie ld of sc ienc e. Since t he Tr in i ty doct r ine is a "myst ery" by i tse l f ,as such, i t cannot be regarded as d iv ine ly breathed. The Bib le says: "For God is not

a God of confus ion but o f peac e." (1 Corinthians 14:33, The Bible)

About the Hebrew Scr ip tu re

The Encyclopedia of Religionadmits:"Theologians today are in agreement that the Hebrew Bib le does not conta in a

doc t r ine o f the Tr in i ty ". And the New Catholic Encyclopedia also says: "The doc t r ine o f

the Holy Tr in i ty is not taught in the Old Testam ent."

Similarly, in his book The Triune God, Jesuit Edmund Fortman admits: "The Old

Testam ent . . . te l ls us noth ing expl ic i t ly or by necessary impl icat ion of a Tr iune God

who is Father , Son and Holy Spi r i t . . . There is no evidence that any sacred wr i ter

ever suspected the ex is tence of a (Tr in i ty) wi th in the Godhead. . . Even to see in

    ( the "Old Testament" ) suggest ions or foreshadowings or 've i led s igns ' o f the t r in i ty

    o f persons, is to go beyond the w ords and in tent o f the sacred w r i ters." (28)

About the Greek Scr ip t ure

The Encyclopedia of Religion says: "Theo log ians agree tha t the New Testament

    a lso does no t con t a in " an exp l i c i t doc t r ine o f the Tr ini ty .

Jesuit Forman states: "The New Testament wr i ters . . . g ive us no formal or fo rmu la ted doc t r ine o f the Tr in i ty , no exp l i c i t teach ing tha t in one God there a re

three co-equal d iv ine persons . . . . Nowhere do we f ind any t r in i tar ian doctr ine of

three d is t inc t subject s of div ine l i fe and act iv i t y in the same Godhead."

The New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology similarly states: "The

(New Testament) does not conta in the developed doctr ine of the Tr in i ty . 'The Bib le

lacks the expressed declarat ion that the Father , the Son and the Holy Spi r i t are of

equal essence. ' [said Protestant theologian Karl Barth' "

"Historian Arthur Weigall Notes: "Jesus Chr is t never ment ioned such a

phenomenon, and nowhere in the New Testament does the word 'Tr in i ty ' appear .

The idea was only adopt ed by the Church three hundred years af ter the deat h of our

    Lord." "Paganismin Our Christianity"(29)

    REJECTIONOFTHETRINITYDOCTRINEBYMODERNCHRISTIANS

Many Modern Christian Theologians to toe the line of the established of the Churches. The latest and most prominent of them is the new Bishop of Durban, Bishop David

Jenkins, Professor of Theology and Religious Studies at Leeds University, says thatsome of the events in Jesus' early mission: "WERE NOT STRICTLY TRUE BUT WERE

ADDED TO THE STORY OF JESUS BY THE EARLY CHRISTIANS TO EXPRESS THEIR

    FAITH I N HIM AS A MESSIAH." (30)

Prof. John Hick says: "What the orthodoxy developed as the two natures of Jesus, divineand human coinhering in the one historical Jesus Christ remains a form of words withoutassignable meanings." He further says: "For to say, without explanation, that thehistorical Jesus of Nazareth was also God is as devoid of meaning as to say that thiscircle drawn with a pencil on paper is also a square. Such a locution has to be givensemantic content: and in the case of the language of incarnation every content thus far

suggested has had to be repudiated."He went on to suggest that the div ine incarnat ion

i s a mytho log ica l idea . Again he said: "I am using the term 'my th ' in the followingsense. "a myth is a story which is told but which is not literally true, or an idea or imagewhich is applied to someone or something but which does not literally apply." "That

Jesus was God the Son incarnate is not literally true, since it has no literal meaning, butit is an application to Jesus of a mythical concept whose function is analogous to that ofthe notion of divine sonship ascribed in ancient world to a king."(31)

The words of Victor Paul Wierwille in his book: "J esus Chr is t is not God": " I am saying

that Jesus Chr is t is not God, but the Son of God. They are not "co-eternal , w i thout

beginn ing or end, and co-equal ." Jesus Chr is t was not l i tera l ly wi th God in the

beginning; ne i ther does he have a l l the assets of God." (32)

Victor Paul Wierwille's empathic comment: "Before c los ing, le t me bare my soul . To

say that Jesus Chr is t is not God does not in my mind degrade the importance and

s ign i f icance of Jesus Chr is t in any way. I t s imply e levates God, the Father o f our

Lord Jesus Chr is t , to His un ique, exal ted and unpara l le led posi t ion. He a lone is

    God."(33)

I be l ieve that J esus (Pbuh) w as crat ed by God; that he w as the "Messiah" (anointed)

and a Messenger of God; that he w as the w ord of God conveyed t o Mary and a spi r i t

f rom Him . I do not acc ept h im as God or the God lncarnate, Son of God nor God the

Son. God and J esus (Pbuh) are d is t inct and separate be ings. God is t he Creator and

Jesus (Pbuh) was the created being. They are of d i f ferent substances and unequal

in t ime, power, know ledge and posit ion.

The numerous categorical statements of Jesus and those of the previous prophets ofGod (Pbut), found in the Bible nullify both the concepts of the "GOD INCARNATE" and

the "TRINITY DOCTRINE". Whatever is contrary to my statements is nothing but hearsaymade by individuals who need to substantiate their claims. The evidence they have onhand are at best interpolations that have crept into the original Gospel of Jesus (pbuh)and earlier messages of God. "Jesus (Pbuh) is not God but on ly a great prophet and

    me ssenger of God."

    TEACHINGOFTHEPROPHETSOFGOD

Strangely, none of the prophets before or after Jesus (Pbuh) taught the doctrine of theTrinity. Rather, they proclaimed the Oneness of God. God alone is transcendent. He isthe Almighty and Creator of everything seen and unseen and has no sharer, partner or

associate, family, offspring or helper in His Godhead. He alone is the Cherisher and theSustainer of the entire creation. The following constitute the teachings of the prophets ofGod:

Prophet Moses (pbuh) says: "Now I know tha t the LORD is g rea te r than a l l gods ,

because he del ivered the people f rom under the hands of the Egypt ians" (Exodus18:11, The Bible)

"The LORD our God, is one LORD, and you sh al l love t he LORD your God w it h al l

    your hear t , and wi t h a l l your soul , and w i th a l l your might ." And these words which I

command you this day shall be upon your hearts; and shall teach them diligently to yourchildren., and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by theway, and when you lie down, and when you rise. And you shall bind them as a sign uponyour hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them onthe doorposts of your house and on your gates. (Deut. 6:4-9, The Bible)

"Take heed to yourse lves, lest you forget the covenant o f the LORD your God,

wh ich he made w i th you , and make a g raven image in the fo rm o f any th ing wh ich

the Lord your God has forbidden you. For the Lord your God is a devouring f i re, a

jeal ous God." (Deut. 45:23, The Bible)

The same concept of God is corroborated by Jesus (Pbuh). (Mark 12:29, The Bible) ". . .

The Lord our God, is one LORD . . ." Both prophets (All the prophets peace be upon

them) emphatically stressed the point that their LORD and our LORD is One God . It isalso noteworthy, that there is nothing in their statements which indicate that either ofthem shared the Godhead."

"There is none holy l ike the LORD, there is none besides thee; there is no rock

    l ik e our God."(1 Samuel 2:2, The Bible)

Prophet David (Pbuh) says in Psalms of the Bible: " 'Le t them know tha t thou a lone ,

whose name is the LORD, ar t the Most High over a l l the ear th ." (Verse 83:18) "Bless

t he LORD, O my soul ! O LORD my God, thou a rt very gre at !" (Verse 104:1); "He i s the

LORD our God." (Verse 105:7); "The LORD is God and He has given l ight" (verse

    118:27); "Thou ar t m y God, and I wi l l g ive thank s to t hee." (Verse 118:28);

Prophet Solomon (Pbuh) says: "The fear o f t he LORD is the beginning of w isdom and

the k now ledge of the Holy One is ins ight ." (Proverbs 9:10, The Bible)

The following words were commonly attributed to Prophet Solomon (Pbuh): "Fear God,

and keep H is comm andments ; for th is i s t he w ho le duty o f m an." (Ecclesiastes 12:13, TheBible)

Prophet Isaiah (Pbuh) says: "The LORD is the Ever last ing God, the Creator o f t he ends

o f the ear th " (Isaiah 40:28, The Bible)

Definetely, only the Creator is God, Who created everything (the whole universe and itscontents) thousands of years ago before the advent of Jesus (Pbuh). Jesus himself wascreated by God and so the Holy Spirit. In fact, there was no Trinity until it was formulatedby men in the third century C.E.

" . . . You shal l worsh ip the Lord your God and Him only shal l you serve." Jesus

(Pbuh) asserted that no one i s w or thy to be w orsh ipped except God a lone .

(Matthew 4:10 and Luke 4:8, The Bible)

Prophet Jesus (Pbuh) says: "And th is i s e te rna l l i fe , tha t they know Thee the on ly

t rue God, and Jesus Chr is t w hom Thou has sent ." (John 17:3, The Bible)

The above statements of Jesus (Pbuh) prove that there is only one Divine person "Theeonly true God" and that he knew nothing of the Trinity. Besides, Jesus (Pbuh) laid noclaim to Godhood, for he referred to a Being "Thee" as the only true God and himselfonly a messenger of God, i.e., "Jesus Christ whom Thou has sent".

St. Paul was aware about the existence of the Trinity. He says: "Men of Israe l , hear

these words : Jesus o f Nazare th , a man a t tes ted to you by God w i th migh ty works

and wonders and s igns which God d id through h im in your midst . . . " (Acts 2:22, TheBible)

    may k now, f rom t he r i s ing o f the sun and f rom the w est , tha t t here i s none bes ides

me; I am the LORD, and there is no other" (Isaiah 45:5 and 6, The Bible)

"For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens (he is God!) , who formed the

    ear th and made i t (he establ ished i t ; he d id not creat e i t a chaos, he formed i t to be

inhabi ted) : " I am the LORD, and there is no ot her ." (Isaiah 45:18, The Bible)

"Remember the former th ings of o ld , for I am God, and there is no other ; I am

God, and there is none l ik e me." (Isaiah 46:9, The Bible)

" . . I am He, I am the f i rs t , and I am the last . My hand la id the foundat ion of the

ear th , and my r ight hand spread out t he heavens. . . " (Isaiah 48:12, The Bible)

Thus says the LORD: "Heaven is my throne and the ear th is my footstoo l ." (Isaiah66:1, The Bible)

"But the LORD is the t rue God; he is the l iv ing God and the ever last ing K ing . . .

Thus shal l you say them: 'The gods who d id not make the heavens and the ear th

shal l per ish f rom the ear t h and f rom under the heavens." (Jeremiah 10:10-11, The Bible)

    " I am t he LORD your God"(Hosea 13:4, The Bible)

    2. Test imony of t he Bib le about J esus (Pbuh)

The birth of Jesus (Pbuh) was foretold: "In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sentfrom God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin bethroded to a man whose namewas Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin's name was Mary."(Luke 1:26-27, The

Bible) Here, God d id not s tep down to become f lesh as c la imed by the churches,

instead He sent His angel Gabr ie l t o in form Mary about t he God's Plan. Jesus (Pbuh)

was a sp i r i t c rea ted in the womb o f Mary by God 's power . Hence, i t negates thedoct r ine of God incarnate, and thus renders the c la im as baseless.

Angel Gabriel informed Mary: "And behold you will conceive in your womb and bear ason, and you shall call his name Jesus."(Luke 1:31, The Bible)

So, who were the members of the Tr in i ty ( i .e . , Three- in-One Godhead) before the

bir t h of J esus (Pbuh)? There has been only One True God in the beg inning, Who l ives

forever . The Tr in i ty was a swi tch f rom the bel ie f o f One God (Monotheism) to three

Gods (polytheism and paganism). Before Jesus (Pbuh), people bel ieved in only One

God, but a f ter h is b i r th , the churches added two more persons in the Godhead.

Secondly, w hen Jesus (Pbuh) was a f e tus, w as the Alm ighty God a lso in fused? Since

the Tr in i tar ians c la im that the two or the three Persons being uni ted in ONE BODY.

Did a l l o f them grew up as one fe tus in the Mary 's womb? I f so, why d id she del iver

Jesus a lone? How chi ld ish and how nauseous to th ink of Jesus (Pbuh) un i ted in

    body w i t h God?

God, Who has no beginning and no end created the heavens and the ear th , and

everyth ing in between them mi l l ions of years ago, much before the advent o f human

civ i l izat ion. Many a generat ions have passed away before t he b i r th of J esus (Pbuh).

"And at the end of eight days, when he was circumcised, he was called Jesus . . ."

(Luke 2:21, The Bible) What a b lasphemy against God! I f Jesus (Pbuh) is the t rue God,

do you bel ieve that he needs to be c i rc umc ised?

"And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom; and the favour of God

was upon him.". (Luke 2:40, The Bible) At first, this "god" Jesus was not knowledgeable

when young but acquired wisdom when he reached adolescence. True God's wisdom

nei ther increases or decreases nor is He subject o f t ime and space because He is

    a l l the t im e per fec t and abso lu te .

When Jesus (Pbuh) prayed "The Lord's Prayer" (Luke 11:2- 4, The Bible) Does one

pray 's to ones own soul? Certa in ly Not! Hence th is d is t inguishes the t rue God f rom

    Prophet Jesus (Pbuh). In addi t ion, Jesus ' wi l l is separate f rom that o f God's Wi l l ,

    w h ich ind ica tes t ha t t hey a re not one and co-equal .

It is mentioned that Prophet Jesus fasted: "And he fasted for ty days and for ty n ights,

and af terw ard he w as hungry . . ." (Matt. 4:2, The Bible) Fast ing is one way of a t on ing

one's s in and showing obedience and subserv ience to a super ior . God is ne i ther

subserv ient to anyone nor need to fast to a tone for His s ins, not even to suf fer wants, ra ther , un l ike Jesus (Pbuh) God is f ree f rom anyth ing because He a lone is

    Supreme and Per fect .

A b ig gather ing of people came to l is ten to Jesus (Pbuh) and brought many s ick

persons who were hea led o f the i r in f i rmi t ies . (Matt.15:31, The Bible) "And so, they

g lor i f ied the God of Israe l . " How come that the God of the Chr is t ians are THREE

w hi le the God of Israe l is ONE?

    "And going a l i t t le f ur ther he fe l l on h is fac e and prayed, 'Father , i f i t be possib le ,

    le t t h is cup pass f rom m e; never the less , no t as I w i l l , bu t as t hou w i l t ." (Matt. 26:29and Mark 14:35- 36, the Bible). To w hom did J esus (Pbuh) address h is prayer? Was i t

to h imsel f be ing a par t o f t he Godhead? Def in i te ly not ! In fact , Jesus (Pbuh) a lw ays

prayed to God for he lp even when he ra ised up Lazarus to l i fe . (John 11:41-43, The

Bible) Jesus (Pbuh) had a lways been thankfu l to God which ind icates h is to ta l

he lp lessness and subserv ience to God.

    " In t he morn ing, as he w as return ing to t he c i t y , he w as hungry. And seeing a f ig

t ree by the wayside he went to i t , and found noth ing on i t but leaves only ."

(Matt.21:18-19, The Bible) A god to fee l hungry and ignorant o f the seasons of t ree

    bear ing f ru i t !

St. Paul says: "Men of Israe l , hear these w ords: Jesus of Nazareth, a man at test ed to

you by God w i th m ighty w orks and w onders and s igns w hich God did through h im in

    your midst . . " (Acts 2:2, The Bible) Here, i t i s c lear w hat Paul meant by t he w ords

"at test ed t o by God" is "anoint ed by God" or "Chosen by God as prophet" .

    3. What Jesus (Pbuh) Says About God and Him self

Jesus Christ (Pbuh) never mentioned about the Trinity nor was aware of there beingthree Divine Persons in Godhead. His concept was the same as those of the earlierIsraelite prophets, who preached the Oneness of God.

"The f i rst is 'Hear, O Israel ; The Lord our God, the Lord is one; and you shal l love

    the Lord your God w i th a l l your hear t , and w i th a l l your soul , and w i th a l l your mind,

    and wi t h a l l your s t rength." (Mark 12:29- 30, The Bible)

"You shal l w orsh ip the Lord your God and h im only shal l you serve." This can be

found in t he Gospels of (Matthew 4:10) and (Luke 4:8) both in t he Bib le : Jesus (Pbuh)

says that on ly God is to be w orshipped.

"Th e Lord our God, t he Lord is One. . ." (Mark12:29, The Bible) Jesus (Pbuh) aff i rms

    t he Oneness of God.

" . . . but he who does the wi l l o f my Father who is in heaven." (Matt. 7:21, The

Bible) I t is c lear that God was in heaven and Jesus (Pbuh) on ear th , Therefore how

could t hey be uni ted in one body?

The Chr is t ian creed states that the 'Three Persons ' are un i ted in one body (three-in-

one God). How is i t poss ib le fo r a ll mem bers o f the Tr in i ty to be fu l l God w hen

each of them const i tu t e on ly 1 /3 of the Godhead?

"And th is is e ternal l i fe , that they know thee the only t rue God, and Jesus Chr is t

whom thou has t sen t . " (John 17:3, The Bible) Here, Jesus (Pbuh) draws a l ine

betw een God and h imse lf . To ach ieve e te rna l l i fe is to k now (ack now ledge)

the t rue God and Jesus (Pbuh) was sent on ly as a messenger of God.

Jesus (Pbuh) says:"Why do you cal l me good? No one is good but God alone." (Mark

10:18, The Bible) Jesus (Pbuh) asserts that no one is good except God, thus

dis t inguish ing God f rom h im .

"But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in

heaven, neither the Son, but the Father."(Matt. 24:36 and Mark 13:32) of the Bible. Jesus

"Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord . ." (John 5:19,

The Bible) Here, Jesus (Pbuh) acknow ledge h is dependence on God.

    "I can do nothing on my own authority: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment in just;

because I seek not my own will, but the will of him who sent me."(John 5:30, The Bible)"For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who

sent me."(John 6:38, The Bible)."My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me."(John 7:16, the Bible)." I do nothing on my own authority but speak thus as the Father taught me." (John

    8:28, The Bible)

Jesus (Pbuh) mak es i t abundant ly c lear that he lack d iv ine power. On h is own c ould

do noth ing s ince God a lone is the only source of pow er and author i ty .

"But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard ofGod . . ."(John 8:40, The Bible) Jesus (Pbuh) confessed t hat he w as just a Messenger

fu l f i l l ing the miss ion c omm anded on h im by one on High.

Further, Prophet Jesus (Pbuh) says: ". . . I am ascending to my Father, and your Father,

and to my God and your God." (John 23:17, The Bible) This very verse puts an end to

t he TRINITY and INCARNATION DOCTRINES. I t show s J esus' ot her hum an being i .e.,

pray ing and seeking help f rom Him .

Al l the above verses p inpoint Jesus ' (pbuh) in fer ior i ty , w eakness and dependence on

    God's favor.

    WHATTHEQUR'ANSAYSABOUTGOD

The Qur'an is the last and final Revelation of Almighty Allah (God). He reveals aboutHimself in the most lucid manner that do not admit other interpretation except that of themeanings of the written words. The words of Almighty Allah and that of His Prophets arewords of Truth. No doubt, His words are clear, simple and self-explanatory withoutconfusion. Allah is the Originator of the heavens and the earth, whose Power andKnowledge is limitless. He is the LORD, the Exalted and the Provider for all creations.

Therefore, men should not get deceived by false illusions that there can be other godsother than the Supreme Ruler.

    BIBLICALEVIEDNCEOFTHETRINITYDOCTRINE

The Trinitarians, in support of the Trinity, quote only some verses from the Bible whoseinterpretations are very strange. They are either far from the context or the original text. The Bible on the whole teach Monothesism (the Oneness of God) from the first book(Genesis)up to the last book (Revelation).

The fo l low ing are some of the verses quoted as proof for the presence of the Tr in i t y doc t r ine :

The First evidence put forth is the verse found in I John 5:7, The Bible) which is in theKing James Version (KJ)of the Bible, authorized in 1611: "For there are three that bear

record in heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost." This verse has been

expunged f rom most o f the rev ised edi t ions of the Bib le as i t was found to be not

f rom t he o r igina l manuscr ip t bu t a la te r add it ion . (36)The Second evidence is in (Matthew 28:19, The Bible): "Go therefore and make disciplesof all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the HolySpirit."

  • 8/14/2019 Is Trinity Doctrine Divinely Inspired!

    29/47

The Third evidence is in (2 Corinthians 13:13-14, The Bible): "All the saints greet you. Thegrace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spiritbe with you all."

The Fourth evidence is in (1 Corinthians 12:4-6, The Bible): "Now there are varieties ofgifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and thereare varieties of working, but it is the same God who inspires them all in every one."

As for the second, th i rd and four th ev idence, the mere ment ion of names

    (designat ions) does not a t a l l const i tu te Tr in i ty , more than tha t o f enumera t ing

them. They, in fact , are three separate be ings wi th vary ing statures and

c i rcum stances . The th ree w ere never equa l in t im e, pos i t ion , knowledge, pow er as

the doctr ine of the Tr in i ty is def ined. In addi t ion, when Jesus was bapt ized

acc ord ing to (Matt hew 3:16, The Bible) , God's Spi r i t desc ended on h im in the form of

a dove. That be ing so, how could Jesus (pbuh) be c la imed as par t o f the Tr in i ty

    w hen he had a lways been w i t h the ho ly sp i r it?

Some of t he verses in t he Bib le g iven as proof e levat ing J esus Chr is t (pbuh) as God

fo r the la te r fo rmat ion o f the Tr in i ty doc t r ine :

First example: "Let us make man in our image . . . " (Genesis 1:26, The Bible). SomeChristian theologians deduce that God was not one and alone at the time of the creation. How ever, God speaks of Himsel f in t he f i rs t person p lura l and th is can be expla ined

as an in tensive p lura l f rom which s ign i fy God's greatness and majesty and g lory.

Chr is t ian scholars expla in th is as denot ing the fu l lness of d iv ine strength or the

unl imi ted power mani fested in God or the omni f icence of God in i ts ent i re ty . Some

cal l i t P lura l o f respect and in grammar i t is re ferred to as a p lura l o f majesty. InGenesis, the first book of the Bible, God alone without helper had effected the Creation(e.g., chapter 1, verse 3, The Bible): "God said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light". Inverse 27 of the same chapter, it says: "So God created man in h is own image". The

verses above do not ind icate any helper or companion of God whatsoever . And, the

verb descr ib ing what God sa id and d id is s ingular (e .g. , God saw that the l ight was

good, God made the f i rmament God created man, God b lessed them, God f in ished

    h is work , e tc .)

At the beginning of the book of Genesis, we read: " In the beginning God created the

heavens and the ear t h . ." Take note, that while the word heavensis in the plural fromthe words Go d and ear th are in singular. Why is the word heavens plural? The reason is

s imple; The Qur 'an te l ls us that the heaven is made up of Seven Fi rmaments . And,

why The Bible writers maintain the words God and earth in singular forms? I t w a s

because they know o f cer ta in ty tha t the ear th is ONLY ONE and Go d is ONLY ONE

as taught by a l l the prophets of God.

Second example: " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was wi th God, and

the Word was God." (John 1:1, The Bible) Take no te , tha t i t was no t Jesus (pbuh)

speaking, ra ther , i t was John. Besides, every Chr is t ian scholar o f the Bib le accept

that th is par t icu lar verse w as phrased by a Jew , named Phi lo o f Alexandr ia in Egyptbefore the avent o f Jesus and John the Bapt is t , peace be upon them .

  • 8/14/2019 Is Trinity Doctrine Divinely Inspired!

    30/47

Further, many translators of Greek Manuscriptto English of (John 1:1, The Bible) writethe first occurence of God that beings in capital "G" referring to God Almighty but in thesecond occurence of God they write in small "g". Such small "g" is used ordinarily forcreatures not for God Almighty like in Psalms (82:6, The Bible): Say, "You ar e gods sons

    of the Most High, a l l o f you; never the less, you shal l d ie l ike men, and fa l l l i ke any

pr ince." And in II Corinthians (4:4, The Bible): " In the i r case t he god of th is w or ld has

b l inded the i r minds of the unbel ievers" Since th is Word (second occurence), i s

    "w i th God" . He cou ld no t be the God A lmigh ty bu t i t i s on ly a "god" l i ke the

    exam ples above.

Hence, modern translators of the Bible render the meaning of (John1:1, The Bible) in thefollowing examples:

" In t he beginning w as the Word, and the Word was w i th God; and the Word was a

    god."(37)

" In t he beginning the Word w as, and the Word was w i th God, and the Word was a

    god."(38)

In another angel , some Chr is t ian sc holars t ranslat ed the "Word" as being the "Div ine

Command", thus, they c la imed that the correct phraseology of (John 1:1-3, The

B ib le) must be : " In t he beg inn ing was the Command, and the Command w as w i th t he

God, and the Command was Div ine. This ( the Command) was in the beginning wi th

the God. A l l th ings were made by th is ( the Command) ; and w i thou t th is was no t

any th ing made tha t was made." In Greek term used by John is Logos, derived fromlego meaning 'to speak'. The English term 'Decalogue' meaning 'Ten Commandments'

is a combination of the Greek words deka(Ten) and logous(Commands). The term logosmeans, "God's Spoken Command. (39)The word 'w i th ' c rea tes an en igmat ic d i lemma fo r those who pre fe r to render the

w o r d Logosas 'Jesus ' instead of 'The Comm and' . The reason is very clear: How c ou ld

Jesus be w i th t he God and God as wel l?

The concept God's spoken Command being 'with the God' from 'the beginning',

coincides with the biblical concept for the Creation. "And the God sa id, le t there be

l ight : and there was l ight ." (Genesis 1:3, The Bible). In the Greek text, John has usedthe definitive article 'the' (ho) before 'God (Theo), because it is a Subject. Here, John hasnot used the definitive article 'the' before 'God' because it is a predicate. In other words, the term used here denotes the nature, quality, attribute or property of the Subject. In thisinstance, the nature of the God's Command is Div ine . In some biblical versions, the

word 'This' is replaced 'This (one)' or 'He' (Jesus)'. However , the w ord 'This" re fe rs to

    'The Spoken Comm and'

Furthermore, it is obvious that in (John 1:1, The Bible) it was God alone who existed foreternity. His Words are always with Him, in the same breath, that your words are withyou, and my words are with me. The Word which God utters is not another God or God

Himself but a Divine Word(Command ) from Him. Otherwise, every creat ion becomes a

separate God s ince every c reat ion represents His Word. The Same argum ent appl ies

    w i t h (Genesis 1:3,TheBible) . The l ight c reated by His w ord is not God but a c reat ion

( l ight) of His Divine Word. Therefore, the phrase " the Word was God" in J ohn 1:1 in

the Bib le is absolute ly out o f p lace.

In addition, if we try to read other scriptures concerning the Creation, we realize thatGod, the Creator used His Words in every creation in like manner as in the Qur'an (e.g., -

"Quun faya quun"w hich m eans in Eng l ish "Be" , and it is):

The or ig inator o f the heavens and the ear t h : w hen He decreet h a matt er , He sa i th to

i t : "Be" : and i t is .(40)Third example: " I and the Father are one." (John 10:30, The Bible). The Christiansunderstood this verse to mean that the Father (God) and Jesus (Pbuh) are one and thesame being; united in One Body; God became flesh in the person of Jesus (Pbuh) andlived among men. The same meaning is given in (John 14:10, The Bible) when Jesus

(Pbuh) says: "I am in t he Father and t he Father is in m e." And also in (John 14:20, The

Bible) where Jesus (pbuh) says: " I am in my fa ther , and you in me and I in you." However, they misinterpreted the meaning in verse 28 of the same chapter when Jesus(pbuh) declares: " I f you loved me, you would have re jo iced, because I go to the

    Father ; for the Father is greater t han I . " I f w hat J esus (Pbuh) sa id was t rue tha t t he

    Father i s g rea te r than h im, then , th is res t t he mat t e r a t peace , tha t t hey a re no t c o-

    equal .

Also, the trinitarians do not realized that by following their arguments, the result wouldmake up a total of 15 bodies ro l led in to one body . It is a "s imp le a r ithm et ic " as a gradeI school kid would put it: The Father is God, the Son (Jesus) is God and the Holy Spirit isGod (e.g., the Trinity) composed of three (3) beings (Persons) united into one God. Addto it the original twelve (12) disciples in the same manner as understood by the

Christians (John 14:20) will produce a total of fifteen (15) beings rolled and united in onebody. The verses in (John 17:21-23, The Bible) would give us clearer meaning about the nature

of their being one: "That they m ay a l l be one even as thou, Father , ar t in m e, and I in

thee , tha t t hey a lso may be in us , so tha t t he w or ld may be l ieve tha t thou has t sen t

me. The g lo ry w h ich t hou has t g iven me I have g iven to t hem, tha t t hey may be one

even as we are one, I in them and thou in me, that t hey may becom e per fect ly one . .

."The above verses suggest no other meaning than the i r "un i ty o f purpose" as t rue

    bel ievers.

Besides, in (John 10:31-36, The Bible) he d id not c la im to be "God" or "God the son"

(as being uni ted w i th t he Father (God), but on ly a separate be ing.

If, on the other hand, the Trinitarians insist that (John 10:30, The Bible) supports thedoctrine of the Trinity, then, they should not limit the number of their God by only three(3) but should add the 12 disciples in (John 14:10 and 20 in the Bible) as they understoodtheir meanings, being "each one in fused in t o one body." Therefore, dilemma would begreater and the entangled mass (Trinity) become more problematic.

Fourth example: " . . . He who has seen me has seen the Father . . . " (John 14:9, TheBible). But didn't Jesus (Pbuh) clearly say that "people have never seen God," as he

says in (John 5:37) of he Bible)?: "And the Fa ther H imse l f wh ich Has sen t me, has

brone wi tness of me. You have nei ther heard His vo ice at any t ime nor seen h is

shape". Here, Jesus (Pbuh) says that he is not God because he was talking and seeing

him. And in (Matthew 7:21, The Bible), Jesus (Pbuh) says: " . . . my Father who is in

heaven." wh i le he was a t the t ime in f ron t o f them. All these statements of Jesus

(pbuh) have only one meaning, i.e., God and Jesus are not the same. How could the

Father (God) and Jesus be same and uni ted in body (as being in terpreted by the

Chr is t ians) w hen the Father is in heaven and J esus (Pbuh) is on ear th?

To believe in God, one should admire His creation which are innumerable: the sun, moon, stars, and everything around us. In (John 4:24, The Bible), Jesus (pbuh) claims:

"God is Spi r i t " . So, how could anyone sees God? And in (John 1:18, The Bible), we

read: "No one has ever s een God."

In addition, Jesus (Pbuh) gave a clear distinction between God and himself in thefollowing verses in the John's Gospel of the Bible: "verse 14:1): "Le t no t your hear ts be

    t roubled; bel ieve in God, bel ieve also m e."The word "a lso" i s c ruc ia l in tha t , i t show s

that God is com plete ly a separate Being f rom t hat o f J esus (Pbuh). In (John 17:3, the

Bible): "And th is i s l i fe e te rna l , tha t they migh t know thee the on ly t rue God, and Jesus Chr is t , whom thou has t sen t . "

Fifth example: (John 29:28, The Bible): "My Lord and my God!" However, this passagehas no import whatsoever because it is nullified by the verses cited above. Scholars areof the opinion that under such miraculous circumstance, the remarks by apostlesThomas might have been made as an emotional exclamation because of astonishmenttowards Jesus (Pbuh), whereas in reality, the exclamation was directed to God. Besides,

Thomas d idn ' t consider Jesus (Pbuh) as God, for he knew very wel l that Jesus

(Pbuh) never claim ed to be God. (John 17:3, The Bible).

In fact, St. Paul give another clear distinction between God and Jesus (Pbuh). He claimedthat God raised up Jesus as reported in the Bible both in (1 Cor. 15:15- 20) and in (Mark16:19): "Af te r t he Lord Jesus had spoken t o them, he w as taken up in to heaven and

he sat a t the r ight hand of God." If indeed, God and Jesus are one and the same being,

would not it be more fitting to say: "Jesus ra ised h imsel f up?" and when Jesus (Pbuh)

was reported to have sat at the right hand of God, would it not be proper to say: "and

Jesus sa t on t he "Throne"? The hard t ru t h is none is ent i t led to t he Exal t ed Throne

exc ept God, Who is w or thy of w orship as c la imed by J esus (Pbuh) and not he . (John17:30, the Bible).

In another verse St. Paul explains who God is (Acts 17:24, the Bible): "The God who

made t he w or ld and everyth ing in i t , be ing Lord of heaven and ear th , does not l ive in

shr ines made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed

    anyth ing, s ince he h imsel f g ives to a l l m en l i fe and breath and everyth ing."

Is th is d i f ference between God and human, the Creator and the created, the In f in i te

and the f in i te is beyond human percept ion? No, but on ly the heedless, hypocr i tes

and the rebel l ious w ish not to understand.

    Addi t ional c la im s e levat ing Jesus t o Godhood.

The Christians claim is that, Jesus (Pbuh) is Go d Incarna te , being full God and full man. This concept totally negated by Jesus (pbuh) with his sayings in (Matt. 1:18-20, The

    where does the ques t ion o f Incarna t ion a r i se? I t te l l s us in s imp le words tha t the

help lessness, and to be hum an means, devoid of d iv in i ty .

Other Christians claim that Jesus (Pbuh) is God because he is also called "So of God",

    "Messiah", "Son of Man" and "Saviour" . However , Jesus spoke o f " t he p
