ISCE Outbound USA Exchange – June 2019• One Senior Escort Officer and two Senior Cadets
attended the exchange.
• Cadets were accommodated at Ripley Hall at Naval Station Newport in Rhode Island.
• Activities included a visit to the Coastguard Station, Kayaking on Wood River, spent an afternoon on the schooner Aquidneck, a day trip to Boston, a visit to the Naval Submarine Base, a two-day trip to New York City and a visit to the Surface Warfare Officer School.
• The USA exchange is a well organised and fun exchange;

• Visit to Maritime Training School;
• Attending Yum Char lunches;
• Visiting Tian Tan Buddha;

• Despite the issues with protests happening in Hong Kong, the organisers were well prepared and changed their plans at short notice;
• The exchange was well organised and fun.

• Visit to the Sea Training School (HMNZS Philomel);
• A RHIB ride in Auckland Harbour;
• Indoor activities with Auckland Navy Cadet Units;
• Visiting Hobbiton;
• Zorb and luge rides in Rotorua;
• Cultural presentation and Hangi at Tamaki Tours, Rotorua;

• 1 hour familiarization flight (joy ride) on NH90 helicopter;
• Visit to the Fire fighting Unit at Ohakea;
• Day shoot at the OHK Range with NZCF;
• Luncheon with the Chief of Navy;
• Tour of Weta Studios;
• End of course dinner.

INBOUND EXCHANGE TO NEW ZEALAND 2020
• 12-23 August 2020 – 10 day exchange starting in Auckland with accommodation and messing at the Naval Base and ending in Wellington;
• Senior Escort Officer appointed is LT Dave Gilbert from TS Diomede (north Auckland);
• One Regular Force NZ Defence person will be appointed in the New Year;
• One Senior Cadet CPO or Warrant Officer will be appointed in the New Year.
