Dear ISBE Member,

It is with extremely mixed emotions that I write this final official newsletter item. I have been so very blessed to serve these last two years as your president. To say that I have learned and grown so much from this experi-ence would be such a vast understatement. Please know that I appreciate this opportunity afforded me, and I look forward to seeing the exciting possi-bilities with the incoming board. With this newsletter, you will read about the wonderful activities and events available during the 2019 National Business Education Association Convention in Chicago. We had several sessions for our membership. There was a lead-ership development session in which new leadership was identified and learned more of our organization. During that session, several wonderful ideas were shared for our next board to consider implementing. Please take time to read about the upcoming SIEC international conference in Greece. Lila Waldman shared many important details with the membership while we were in Chicago. She has graciously agreed to the sharing of her information in this newsletter. The pictures of the conference site are just gorgeous. As always, please know that your US Chapter ISBE Executive Board is here to serve you. If you have ideas that you would like to see in future publications or activities, tell us. We would love to hear from you. This is your organiza-tion, and it is most definitely the best. Benefits to Joining ISBE

Ultimately, leadership is not about glorious crowning acts. It's about keeping your team focused on a goal and motivated to do their best to achieve it, especially when the stakes are high and the consequences really matter. It is about laying the groundwork for others' success, and then stand-ing back and letting them shine. ~Chris Hadfield

Leadership is about vision and responsibility, not power. ~Seth Berkley

The task of the leader is to get his people from where they are to where they have not been. ~Henry Kissinger
