Every Baldwin air filter is designed to
have an efficient balance of threeimportant characteristics – maximumefficiency, minimum initial restrictionand cost-effective service life.
The primary components of a typicalheavy-duty radial seal air filter are theseal, molded ends, inner and outer metalwrappers and the media.
The inner and outer metal wrappersprotect the filter media and providestructural strength for the completedfilter. With 73 percent of the surfacearea of all Baldwin metal wrappersopen, minimal air flow restriction isattained.
The most important part of the air filteris the media. Baldwin ensuresmaximum strength and minimumrestriction through its PermaPleat®
design. PermaPleat is a specialembossing process, which creates built-
in pleat spacing in the media. This addsextra stability and separation to preventpleats bunching together from incomingair.
To complete the process of air filterconstruction, a urethane compound isused to form the molded ends. Thisurethane compound bonds the mediapack, which includes the inner and outermetal wrappers, forming a strong, yetflexible package. The heavy-duty radialseal gasket formed from this urethanecompound is designed to makeservicing easier and more cost effective.
