Grades and atude are major keys as well, but in the end, the collegiate coach you are looking to impress is going to want to see how you bowl. Many mes, coaches are not able to physically stand behind you and watch you bowl, so the next best thing is to send a video! What coaches want to see in a recruing video can vary. Some may not have specific guidelines, whereas others may be incredibly specific about the videos. If the coach you are talking to does not request certain angles, then the following angles would be good to include: Shots from the back Shots from both sides If possible, shots from the front Shots showing that you can shoot corner pins. While it is good to show that you can strike, coaches know that you do not strike every single shot. So, including shots that show that you can make your spares is very important! When making your video, you don’t want to have it be too long. You have to keep in mind that coaches are going to be watching a lot of videos, so they won’t want to sit and watch a 10 minute video just for one player. Also, aer each shot in your video, make sure to display a calm atude. If it was the best shot of your life, or the worst carry you’ve ever seen, no coach wants to see you act obnoxiously on the lanes. Happy filming! Tip #4: Recrui ng Videos

A huge part of being recruited is actually how you bowl. Grades and atude are major keys as well, but in

the end, the collegiate coach you are looking to impress is going to want to see how you bowl. Many

mes, coaches are not able to physically stand behind you and watch you bowl, so the next best thing is to

send a video!

What coaches want to see in a recruing video can vary. Some may not have specific guidelines, whereas

others may be incredibly specific about the videos. If the coach you are talking to does not request certain

angles, then the following angles would be good to include:

• Shots from the back

• Shots from both sides

• If possible, shots from the front

• Shots showing that you can shoot corner pins. While it is good to show that you can strike, coaches

know that you do not strike every single shot. So, including shots that show that you can make your

spares is very important!

When making your video, you don’t want to have it be too long. You have to keep in mind that coaches

are going to be watching a lot of videos, so they won’t want to sit and watch a 10 minute video just for

one player. Also, a,er each shot in your video, make sure to display a calm atude. If it was the best shot

of your life, or the worst carry you’ve ever seen, no coach wants to see you act obnoxiously on the lanes.

What is your favorite thing about the tour? My favorite thing about the tour is getting to travel to the different bowling alleys and seeing different shots.

What kept you going through the hard times? The friends that I have met through bowling.

What advice would you give to someone who’s just starting the ISST? Your aren't going to be the best at every shot but always be calm and think to yourself that you will be better the more you bowl on the different shots, and always remember to take it one shot at a time.

Who’s your biggest inspiration? My parents, because they have given up so much for me to have the opportunities that I have been given.

How many times have you been to Jr. Gold? 1 time in 2015

What is your positive take-away from Jr. Gold? I came in with only a few months experience on sport shot and I was able to make the first cut. Also taught me to be patient and I made new friends. Jr. Gold has also made me a stronger bowler and has helped my games

What is your negative take-away from Jr. Gold? I let my mind take over on some of my games.

Overall, what has bowling done for you? Overall I feel as if bowling has taught me many life skills such as keeping calm in situations that I am unfa-miliar with and has helped me mature and grown. I have also met some wonderful friends and families that I will cherish.
