instructions:

1 Turn the enamel bowl upside down. Start with

the broad Washi tape and cover all around the base of the bowl. Alternate between the two remaining Washi tapes for the second layer, roughly tearing off sections of Washi tape and sticking them down. They can even overlap.

2 If desired, paint the rope cord to match the colour

scheme of the Washi tape. Leave to dryompletely. Take the cylinder lantern and place on top of the enamel bowl. Use permanent marker to trace the outline of the base of the cylinder onto the enamel bowl. With the glue gun, glue the rope cord on that line.

3 Cut the lace to fi t around the base of the glass

cylinder. Wrap the base of the cylinder with cling fi lm and paint it with clear Tokreen. This will result in a rather stiff lace ring and if there is enought space between the cylinder and the lace it will slip in easily.

materials:

Enamel steel bowl Washi tape - Broad x 1 Washi tape – Standard in 2 different designs

Glass cylinder lantern Lace for the trimming around the base of the glass cylinder

Rope cord Modge Podge Cling fi lm Tokreen, clear drying type Glue gun and glue Permanent marker

Or if preferred, paint a thin layer of Modge P odge, the width of the lace, onto the glass cylinder and glue the lace onto the glass cylinder.

4 Cut the candle to size and light it. Drip some

of the wax directly on top of the enamel bowl where the candle will be placed. Press the bottom of the candle into the hot wax to secure it. Place the glass cylinder over the candle. CH
