The Friends of St Teddy’s would like to say a huge ‘Thank you’ to everyone for contributing towards the Easter Egg hunt. Despite the weather, the children found Teddy’s little chicks and as a reward they all went home with a chocolate egg. During each session a prize was given out to the child who

found the Golden Egg which was presented to them during assembly on the last day of term.

The children weren’t the only ones having all the fun, during lunch time the staff got involved too by running around with their bags, looking high and low and they managed to grab some eggs too.

However, Mr Harmer in year 6 was crowned yet again “The Best Easter Egg Hunter of 2019” for digging his way into the sand and finding the Golden Egg. He won a supersized Easter egg and his class received packs of eggs to enjoy over the holidays. Overall, it was a lovely day for the whole

school and everyone was a winner.

Without your love and support, this wouldn’t have been possible. Thank you again for your kindness and generosity. We look forward to next years Easter Egg Hunt.

Let this be proof that children can find things when they want to. God Bless!

Year 6 car wash raised £82 for CAFOD charity last

week. Students worked tirelessly to ensure staff

drove off in sparkly clean cars!

We raised over £170 for Celia Hammond Animal Trust, a local animal

charity based in Canning Town. The charity were extremely grateful and

touched by the generosity of our

staff, children and parents.

A group of children was led by Mrs D Tatnell

who went to Central Park for an end of year

treat!

Congratulations to team ‘Deadly

Duo’ (Jefferson & Ronny(Yr6)who

fought off tough competition to win

the charity FIFA 19 tournament. The

KS2 charity event raised £32 for

CAFOD. A special thank you to Rwchon

(Yr6) for organising the entire

tournament.

As part of this year’s Scholars Programme, 5 pupils from Year 5 went

on an educational visit to the Houses of Parliament. They went on a

tour of the House of Lords and the House of Commons, and were even

lucky enough to watch actual MPs debating.

We are the champion!!!

Well done Boys Sportshall Athletic team!

At St. Edwards all of our year 3 children as well as other year 3 children across London have been invited by the artist

and film director Steve McQueen to take part in a photographic exhibition to be displayed at Tate Britain later this year.

They met Tom, the Tate photographer, who showed them

a photo of Tate Britain and explained that “They will be the future faces of a changing London.” The children got to

ask him interesting

questions about his profession.

Lord, the resurrection of Your Son

has given us new life and renewed

hope.

Help us to live as new people

in pursuit of the Christian ideal.

Grant us wisdom to know what we

must do,

the will to want to do it,

the courage to undertake it,

the perseverance to continue to do it,

and the strength to complete it.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who

lives and reigns with you and the Holy

Spirit,

one God, now and for ever.

God Bless

Consultation to Convert to Academy Status

St Edward’s Governing Body has decided that they wish to explore conversion to Academy status and, in particular, joining the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy

Trust. An important letter has been given to your child regarding this.

An open meeting will take place for you to come and raise any queries you may have or make comments about this on Thursday, 16th May at 5:30pm and Friday, 17th May at 9:00 am. If you are unable to make this meeting but would like to ask any questions or make any comments please either telephone and ask to speak to

the Head Teacher or email us on the school account at

[email protected] by Friday, 17th May 2019 at 9:00am.

The consultation will close on 21st June. The Governors will meet after this date to

consider how to proceed.

In the evening of that same day, the first day of the week, the doors were closed in the room where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews. Jesus came and stood among them. He said to them, ‘Peace be with you’, and showed them his hands and his side. The disciples were filled with joy when they saw the Lord, and he said to them again, ‘Peace be with you.

‘As the Father sent me, so am I sending you.’

After saying this he breathed on them and said:

‘Receive the Holy Spirit. For those whose sins you forgive, they are forgiven; for those whose sins you retain, they are retained.’

Thomas, called the Twin, who was one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. When the disciples said, ‘We have seen the Lord’, he answered, ‘Unless I see the holes that the nails made in his

hands and can put my finger into the holes they made, and unless I can put my hand into his side, I refuse to believe.’ Eight days later the disciples were in the house again and Thomas was with them. The doors were closed, but Jesus came in and stood among them. ‘Peace be with you’ he said. Then he spoke to Thomas, ‘Put your finger here; look, here are my hands. Give me your hand; put it into my side. Doubt no longer but believe.’ Thomas replied, ‘My Lord and my God!’ Jesus said to him: ‘You believe because you can see me.

Happy are those who have not seen and yet believe.’

There were many other signs that Jesus worked and the disciples saw, but they are not recorded in this book. These are recorded so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing this you may have life through his name.

Thank you for entering our Easter Raffle draw which raised over £400. The

money will be used towards school resources for our children’s education.

The grand prize was won by a very happy little girl from our Nursery. Lots of

other prizes were won by other pupils in the school.

We hope that they enjoyed all their Easter treats during the holidays.
