Department of Mathematics
Newsletter (2015-2016)
The department of Mathematics takes
efforts to make the students competent,
resourceful, employable and empow-
ered under the guidance of a team of
dedicated faculty. The department is
improving significantly every year.
The department appreciates
and thanks everyone who contributed
much to its development. The intro-
duction of Life Frontier Engagement in
the curriculum of final year under-
graduate students has enabled the
students to collect and analyze the data
at Sambakulam village. This is a maid-
en effort taken by the students to give
interesting and informative results at
the end of the project. Three of the
faculty have availed 24 months leave to
pursue their doctoral research. To
meet the demand for the B. Sc. Mathe-
matics course, one more section in B. Sc.
Mathematics with computer applica-
tions has been introduced in the aca-
demic year 2015-16. Subsequently two
faculty have been appointed in the self
financed stream.
Like every year, this year also
the students of the department of
Mathematics have consistently partici-
pated in various inter-collegiate
competitions and brought laurels to
the department.
The newsletter gives a
glimpse of the activities and achieve-
ments of the students and the faculty
of the department.
