Students had to put their investigator hats on for the Forensic Incursion, which was presented by Alison Leck.

The incursion began with an outline of a body on a boat and evidence of a robbery.

Students rotated through different stations and had to use a variety of forensic methods, including identifying fingerprints, using a UV light to discover evidence, constructing DNA sequences and establishing what poison was used.

At the end of it, students had to nominate a suspect and use the evidence they had gathered to unlock the safe full of gold.

Adam Road now has some budding forensic investigators!

From the Principal’s Desk

We are continuing our new Term Awards with the Year Level Champion Writers being presented with their medallions at this Friday’s assembly.

Last term we acknowledged the champion mathematicians in our school and in terms 3 and 4 we will award medallions to champions in HaSS (Humanities and Social Sciences) and Science. In addition to the medallions, certificates will be presented to the students who have shown the most progress in their class.

By the time you are reading this we will have completed the annual Interschool Cross Country event at our school. Mrs Kylie Sheedy does an outstanding job organising this major event each year. We are fortunate to have such a committed Physical Education teacher at our school so please acknowledge her

efforts next time you see her. Students are already getting excited about the prospect of representing Adam Road at the State Cross Country Finals in Perth next term. The P&C are also great supporters of this event and work hard selling refreshments to raise money for our school. Thanks to all involved.

Student reports will be sent home next Wednesday. Please spend some time discussing the comments made on your child’s report with them so that they know what to focus on to continue their learning.

Only one week to go before our term break so hopefully this good golfing weather continues for the holidays!!

Guy Asser Principal

As a school, we have been registered in the ‘Switch Your Thinking’ competition run by the City of Armadale, City of Gosnells and the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale. Classes or individuals reuse or repurpose items to create something that can be displayed or used within the garden.

Room eleven decided to do something about the bare grey wall outside their classroom that generated a lot of heat in summer. We collected unwanted garden boots and shoes, filled them with soil and planted edible plants in them. They were then tied to the wall. This created

not only a wonderful display of colour but also a practical wall garden. Over time, the plants will grow and cover most of the wall. Everyone was pleased with the result.

Room 21 have created beautiful garden swans using old tyres.
