Well done to all the children for a fabulous week of learning!
House Winners of the Week – Wylye!
Welcome back to term 2, I hope you all had a lovely half term.
Our new Value this term is Trust.
It would be great if you could discuss these questions with your family.
Please ask your child about their new topic for the term – I know the teachers have been busy planning for an
amazing term and already I have heard Christmas songs coming from KS2 classrooms!
It was lovely watching the children work in their House Teams this week. The four very interesting ‘Guy Fawkes’
that each house created seem to mysteriously move around the school each night but today they have been
rehomed and I hope they find themselves on top of a bonfire over the weekend.
Yesterday, we had our Parents’ meetings – if you were unable to meet up with your child’s teacher, please do
contact them to arrange 5 minutes to talk about your child’s progress and achievement so far this school year.
I am also thoroughly looking forward to hearing about The Engineering Festival which the children in Foresters are
attending this afternoon, in Trowbridge. I do hope it’s as good as it sounds.
Have fun during the Fireworks Weekend but more importantly Be Safe and Be Responsible - two of our three
school rules.

Dear Parent/Carer
As part of
Wiltshire Police are supporting the national road safety week campaign this year on 20-26 November.
The slogan for the campaign is Speed Down Saves Lives.
In the lead up to our campaign we are inviting students from all of Wiltshire’s Primary Schools to take
part in designing a poster to promote road safety in and around their community. Police and Crime
Commissioner Angus MacPherson will be judging the entries with the winning design being turned into
the logo for this year’s campaign.
The winning entry will receive a visit from their local Policing team for their school.
The poster design can be anything in relation to road safety. All we ask is that your child includes the
slogan; Speed Down Saves Lives and that you use an A4 piece of paper.
Please write your child’s name, year group and school on the back and ensure it is returned to school by
Friday 13 October.
We look forward to receiving your creative masterpieces which will help in raising the awareness of road
safety across Wiltshire.
Yours Sincerely
Wiltshire Police
