Thursday February 04 2010 Jagdeep Dangi asoftware engineer from Ganj Basoda in Visidha Districtof Madhya Pradesh has created a Hindi languagebrowser which will serve as a huge boon for villagersall over India This software will help Hindi computerusers to type without changing fonts or the keyboardin Unicodeshybased Devanagari script (Hindi MarathiSanskrit) and Roman script (English) jointly on thesame page Dangi has named both software asPrakhar Devanagari Font Parivartak and the PrakharDevanagari lipik

I have been in the software line for many years now Dangi says with a touch ofpride I wanted to do something for the rural masses and hit upon the idea ofcreating a Hindi Internet browser It took me five years of sustained work to build themodel and I hope this will bridge the digital divide that exists between the rural andurban masses

The thing that foxed most computer users was the issue of varied fonts and theresulting conflict when the user types in Hindi Conversion of a text into another typewas a big hurdle with the essence of the subject being lost But this software hasmagically solved this problem It would now be possible to convert any type ofASCIIISCII (ISCII 8 bit code) fonts to Unicode (16 bit code) in computers with greaterease

Dangi is a man of many parts I have also created the worldrsquos first Hindi InternetExplorer the ishyBrowser++ a HindishyEnglishshyHindi Shabdkosh and a global wordtranslator (Anuvadak) he informs My software has reached out to millions of Hindispeakers who are far removed from Indias Englishshyspeaking metro areas

He has been included in the Limca Book of Records for creating the Hindi ibrowser butis far from finished yet and is planning more ventures in the exciting field ofinformation technology
