Hershey Foods Corporation is the No.1 manufacturer of confectionary

products in the United States, with 14,000 employees worldwide and 2003

sales of approximately $4.2 billion. The company’s major brands include

Hershey’s Reese’s, Kit Kat, Kisses, Twizzlers, Jolly Rancher, Ice Breakers,

Carefree, and Breathsavers. Headquartered in Hershey, Pennsylvania, the

company has numerous manufacturing plants in North America.

With a focus on keeping pace with evolving SAP technology, Hershey’s

management initiated an upgrade from version 3.1 H to 4.6C. The system

had 4.000 named users accessing a variety of modules, including FI, CO,

MM, PP, Warehouse Management, SD, Maintenance Management, and

Business Warehouse, Approximately 35 external applications, including

Manugistics and Siebel, were integrated with the system.
