Working  a  Typical  8  hour  work  day:  

•  5  days  per  week    =    120,000  minutes  per  year    •  4  days  per  week    =    96,000  minutes  per  year  •  3  days  per  week    =    72,000  minutes  per  year  •  2.5  days  per  week    =    60,000  minute  per  year

To  become  that  effec,ve  there  are  things  that  must  be  done  including:  •  Avoiding  was?ng  your  minutes  at  all  cost  

Your  IQ  drops  twice  as  much  when  you  are  constantly  interrupted  by  phone  calls,  ques9ons,  emails,  and  text  messages  as  it  does  when  you’re  

smoking  marijuana.    

•  Se\ng  goals  and  deadlines  •  Delega?ng  work  

 •  Crea?ng  urgency  among  your  team    •  Rewarding  yourself,  and  those  that  work  with  you  

•  Recrea?on  ?me  (2nd  piece  of  puzzle)  

•  Rewards  are  vital  •  Employers  and  employees  both  need  them,  but  employers  need  them  the  most  and  get  them  the  least.    You  must  reward  yourself.    

Failure  to  reward  yourself  leads  to  at  least  one  of  three  things:    

 •  Mediocrity    •  Burnout    •  Sickness  (Depression)  

•  You  must  do  something  exhilara?ng  

•  When  you  are  happy  and  s?mulated,  you  are  more  crea?ve  

•  Neurotransmicers  in  the  brain  drama?cally  increase  brain  func?on  and  crea?vity.    Thrills    and  excitement  increase  the  amount  of  neurotransmicers  in  the  brain  drama?cally  allowing  for  clearer  thought  and  enhanced  crea?vity.  

•  Great  ideas  do  not  come  to  you  when  you  are  interrupted  and  busy,  they  come  to  you  aeer  days  of  exhilara?on.

Some  por?on  of  a  person’s  ?me  must  be  devoted  to  think  ?me  every  week.  

•  Because  your  best  ideas  oeen  come  on  or  aeer  your  day  of  exhilara?on,  it  is  best  to  have  your  think  day  right  aeer  your  day  of  excitement  and  exhilara?on.

Final  thoughts    •  As  you  cut  back  on  your  workweek  and  become  more  effec?ve,  you  must  allocate  ?me  to  the  other  important  parts  of  the  balanced  life  puzzle,  recrea?on,  think  ?me,  charitable  ?me,  and  family  ?me.
