General OverviewSmartScrub™ saves significant labor and material costs with its advanced technology, making it the smart choice for daily floor maintenance. SmartScrub™ is highly effective at cleaning and polishing many floor surfaces. It is also very durable and lasts longer than any comparable pad on the market (up to 500,000 square feet).

SmartScrub™ is environmentally preferred and can be used with just water. SmartScrub™ is Green Seal certified and made from 100% recycled PET fiber. One 20" floor pad uses the equivalent of seven to ten 16.9 ounce water bottles, which could have been sent to a landfill. SmartScrub™ is designed with enhanced biodegradation and was shown by an independent lab to biodegrade more than 90% in less than two years in simulated landfill testing.

SmartScrub™ is a two-sided, dual-use floor pad and is a great choice for every day maintenance. The pad consists of a yellow indicator core with a brilliant blue top coat. The blue coating is what ultimately cleans and shines the floor. The coating is a specially formulated resin that contains microscopic abrasive grains.

SmartScrub™ is more durable and removes scuff marks faster than competing cleaning and shining products. SmartScrub™ has a pad life expectancy of up to 500,000 square feet, which is 5X longer than traditional cleaning pads, which have life expectancies of 75,000 to 100,000 square feet.

Burnishing frequency depends on the user’s desired gloss level (measured in gloss units, or GU). If the user wants a floor with a high gloss reading above 80 GU, they may need to burnish the floor more frequently. If a GU of 60 to 70 is acceptable, they will not need to burnish as often or not at all.

Single-Disk Rotary Auto Scrubber

SmartScrub™ should be used wet on a low-speed auto scrubber or single-disk rotary machine.

SmartScrub™ is not designed to be used dry or on a high-speed burnisher.

HOW TO USE

Use SmartScrub™ as a daily cleaning pad in a low speed (175-350 rpm), wet application. SmartScrub™ is not designed to be used dry.

SmartScrub™ is designed for use on finish coated floors, but can also be used on uncoated floors. Use SmartScrub™ on VCT, vinyl, sheet vinyl, ceramic tile, stone, terrazzo, concrete, marble, granite, and rubber.

SmartScrub™ removes dirt, scuff marks, and imperfections on the floor. A brilliant shine will be maintained and/or increase over time.

Instructions: • Prior to performing any cleaning, dust mop entire floor surface. We recommend using TrapEze®

disposable dusting sheets for effective surface preparation. • Install appropriate sized SmartScrub™ pad(s) on cleaning equipment. A center lock attachment

may be required. • Fill the auto scrubber tank with water or properly diluted neutral cleaning solution. • Once the scrubber tank is full and the pad is attached to the equipment, you are ready to clean the

flooring substrate. • For extended pad life, rinse the pad with water to remove soil and debris as needed. Air dry.• Each side of the pad has a specially formulated, proprietary blue coating. Use the pad until the blue

coating has been completely worn away on the working surface of the pad and the yellow interior is exposed. Use one side until it’s worn or flip the pad periodically and use each side evenly.

End users reported a reduction or elimination of burnishing when using SmartScrub consistently for extended periods of time.

How much will SmartScrub™ pads increase the shine on my floor? Gloss or shine increase will vary by application and other factors. Frequency of use, traffic levels, equipment, coating type, floor type, and starting shine level can affect the shine increase on the floor. In major high traffic areas, SmartScrub can slow the shine deterioration. In lower traffic areas where the shine was already at a low value, the shine will increase over time.

I just started using SmartScrub™ pads. Why don’t I see a difference in shine on my floor? Some users experience an immediate increase in shine. However, it is common for the shine results to develop gradually over time. With repeated use, SmartScrubTM pads will provide a noticeable improvement in shine.

I have been using SmartScrub™ pads for a while. Why haven’t I seen an increase in the shine? High traffic levels are most likely the culprit. It is likely SmartScrubTM has reduced the rate of shine deterioration on the floor.

Can I use SmartScrub™ on scrubbing equipment without a center lock attachment? It is recommended to use a center lock attachment on auto scrubbing equipment. This will help ensure the pad works properly and is effectively attached to the machine. SmartScrubTM can be used on an electric single-disk rotary machine, which doesn’t have a center attachment. Equipment with prongs or teeth in place of a center lock attachment may need to be modified if the teeth don’t penetrate the surface coating. The pad may spin out from underneath the machine during use if the prongs or teeth don’t properly penetrate.

Can I use SmartScrubTM pads for floor stripping? SmartScrubTM pads are not designed to be used as a stripping pad or to be used with floor stripping solution. SmartScrubTM is designed to clean and shine floor surfaces.

Can I use SmartScrubTM pads for deep scrubbing and recoating applications? SmartScrubTM pads are not designed to remove layers of floor finish and are not recommended to be used in deep scrubbing and recoating applications.

Can I use SmartScrubTM pads immediately after applying a floor coating? It is not recommended to use SmartScrubTM pads on a coated floor until at least 24 hours after the coating has been applied and it is completely cured.

Will SmartScrubTM pads remove my floor coating?SmartScrubTM pads will not remove a noticeable amount of coating when used with water or a neutral floor cleaner. SmartScrubTM pads can be used for long-term cleaning.

How can I increase the life of the SmartScrubTM pad? • Avoid rough floor surfaces, expansion joints, and transition thresholds. • Rinse pads regularly to remove unnecessary dirt and debris. • Flip the pad each day instead of running one side to the end of its life before using second side. • Inspect the equipment to make sure the driver heads are level and applying equal pressure to the floor pad. • Use the least amount of possible down pressure to achieve desired cleaning results.
