    ` He was born on February 04, 1947.

    ` Bachelor of Technology Degree in ME from the IIT- Delhiin 1968.

    ` AMP Diploma from Harvard Business School, USA andcompleted a course on Advanced Training in Hotelieringand Services at Cornell University, USA.

    ` He has also served as Managing Director of Air IndiaLimited.

    `

    He has a career spanning 36 years of experience acrossgeneral management, strategic management andbusiness leadership.

    ` Deveshwar joined Indian Tobacco Company in 1968as a management pupil. He was appointed MBOadviser to corporate headquarters in Kolkata in 1972.

    ` Later, he took over as a factory manager in ITCsPackaging and Printing Plant in Chennai in 1974.

    ` He was appointed general manager of ITCsPackaging and Printing Division in 1978 and wasappointed as the director on the Board of theCompany in 1984.

    ` He became the Chairman on January 01, 1996.
