Some general points
• Cats display pruritus differently than dogs• Flea allergic cats are very good at removing fleas
from their coats• All cats in a household should be treated• The environment should be treated• All pruritic cats should receive flea treatment

• Stronghold• Comfortis• Program injection
Food trialling
• Notoriously difficult in cats• Upto 12 weeks
Atopy
• Less well characterised than in dogs• Do not use megoestrol acetate• Steroids better tolerated than in dogs• Cyclosporine seems to work well in cats• ASIT can work well in cats
